the GH and RB agrument is different, they are more specialized and hit the market where hardcore and casual gamers dreams come true.

Figures show since these games have come out, more people have taken up lessons to play the instruments.

But thats just it.  Banjo Kazooie can also be perceived as either hardcore or casual.  It certainly has "kiddie" graphics, but it is also a very distinguised platformer (based on the series' history).  I certainly don't think it will flop.  I don't think Too Human will either, but it certainly won't sell well.  It will probably sell decently, but whether it sells enough to justify the rest of the trilogy being made is in doubt.

I agree with Dodece about having to look at hype along with sales for some of these games. These games are supposed to be like a blockbuster movie that everyone will want to see, but I don't think that way about these games.

1)NG2: Average, will sell well, but for all the hype it is getting not going to live up the expectations. Especially when the lead dev says he will make it very hard like the first and just make it funner to die, yeah whatever. Don't see the majority of people wishing to get their asses kicked like that. Little more than last version in sales/

2)Fable 2: Average, people are hyping this like a Final Fantasy game but I don't see it living up to that much hype. Again good sales but not enough to justify the hype, I think it will sell about the same as the last version.

3) TH: Below average, I think this will have a Haze like outing. Its been delayed so many times that people will probably just not care. Probably sell around 1 million copies.

4) BK3: Flop, I don't see this being that big. Banjo isn't a big name anymore really and the company has kind of gone down hill. Have they made a successful game by any measure this decade? Lucky to break 500,000.

5) GeoW2: 'Nuff said, 5 million plus sold.

6) FO2: Average, will probably sell because they will slap on, "From the makers of Oblivion!" but will be nothing you will be talking about come spring. Right around 1 million copies.

Ninja Gaiden 2 - Hit. I see it selling in the 1.5 to 2m range which is a big success for a game that is largely inaccessible to casual gamers.

Fable 2 - Hit. Will be pretty big. The original sold very well on the Xbox and I see this one selling even better. Can see it doing at minimum 2.5m with 3m and above definitely possible.

Too Human - Could flop. No real idea what this could do. Will depend entirely on reviews and advertising I think as the extended development period hasn't allowed for any gradual building of hype.

Banjo Kazooie 3 - Hit. I can see it getting in the range of 1.5m which would be a big success given the sale of Rare's games thus far. I wouldn't be surprised to see this game becoming a popular bundled game pushing sales over 2m.

Gears of War 2 - Hit. Will likely sell 5m plus. Could be Halo-big given the success of the original.

Fallout 3 - Hit. I think this will end up being a high quality product that will appeal the Bioshock-Oblivion-Mass Effect audience, that could see it sell in the 1.5m to 2m range.

Ninja Gaiden 2 - definitely hit
Fable 2 - hit
Too Human - could be flop
Banjo Kazooie 3 - it can be hit or an average game. there is high expectations for this game.
Gears of War 2 - hit
Fallout 3 - as a game it can be a hit or a mediocre title like oblivion. as a fallout game many fans will say that this game is the worst in whole fallout series because it's an action rpg and not traditional turn based game. so it can be hit and flop in the same time.

just a question to the OP, why is there no GTAIV on your 360 list? when i look at both thread, the reactions seem overwhelmingly positive for PS3 games and somewhat mixed for 360. If you added GTAIV instead of Too Human for example, the results would look different. so i was just wondering how you picked the games.

ps: i don't own a ps3 or an xbox, pretty neutral on this stuff.

DMeisterJ would never want the Xbox 360 to look good.......

ninja gaiden 2 - loved the first ng although i never completed it, i'd say - not
fable2 - don't like rpg's in any form other than kingdom hearts, but this could be great in terms of software - not
too human - heard the name of that game for too long but haven't seen anything, in the same boat as haze i'm afraid - flop
banjo kazooie 3 - i just can't see this game selling well, even if it does get good reviews, it just doesn't fit it's install base - flop
gears of war 2 - even if all they gave us was a blank dvd with gears of war 2 printed on it, it will still be a major hit - not.
fallout 3 - i really have no idea of what this game could do, doesn't seem to carry aby hype in my opinion - flop

Kameo sold alright on a tiny userbase, was a fraction of the quality that BK3 will be and was on sale BEFORE any diversification of the 360's installed base.

Now we have Guitar Hero and Rock Band selling gangbusters, Viva Pinata doing well, and Scene it reaching half a million.  We are talking about the second best platforming series of all time.  Microsoft hasn't even begun to hype the game.  I think it will do great.  Well over a million.
