Forums - Sales Discussion - Major discrepancies between vgchartz and nextgen.biz sales analysis

I was just wondering what was up with some of these discrepancies between next-gen and this site.

http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=9639&Itemid=50&limit=1&limitstart=9

These are for sold numbers for Euro + north america, multiplatform releases are counted as 1 title.

 as of march

 Here is just a sampling

Kane and Lynch - X360/PS3/PC

Next gen 590K

VG (1.66 milion just for PS3/360).

RE:UC

Next Gen - 540k

VG - 900k

Heavenly Sword

NG - 660k

VG -.93 million

Uncharted

NG 730

VG 1.5 million

Pokemon Battle Revolution

NG -  850

VG chartz  620k

(just bringing this up because it pushes it into the million seller category)

 Tiger Woods08

NG 2.3 million, of which the best performer was the wii (in the analysis)

Vgchartz Wii - 260k?!? (which reminds me, can we please get updates for the Euro sections of some of the wii games, namely Super Monkey Ball, Elebits, Tiger woods 08, MOHH2 etc.)

RRR2 is also waaaay off.

Thoughts? Who is more accurate?

Around the Network

Welcome to the community.

I read that article back when it was published and if you'll note, they compiled their sales data from multiple sources such as some games are publisher shipment figures, some are NPD only, others are GfK only, etc...

I'm a reader of NG.biz but I found that article to horribly put together in that their sales data was not comparable across all titles.
