after more than a year out, the biggest problem the ps3 has is the fact that its oldest siblings is still alive and selling sometimes more. The question is, who keeps on buying these consoles and why? Andi  know no other consoles have a bigger library of games than the ps2, but it needs to die for the PS3 to start selling well. what can Sony do?

Make The Low End model of the ps3 backwards compatible, even if it's just the software version of BC. Simple as that.

Ummmm... everyone one here's saying that if you want to play PS2 games, go buy a PS2, so why would they remove that option so fast?

this is absolutely no problem for Sony
on the contrary, Sony's position would be quite worse without the PS2 still selling so good,
there is a good chance that many people who have bought the PS2 the last couple of years will when they chose their next console, see a PS3 with a much better library than it now has
Sony needs to make sure that in a couple of years from now many PS2 owners switch to the PS3

so it should absolutely not die
people buying a PS2 is better than people buying a Wii or 360 for Sony,
a lot better, not only for the money, but with PS2 the PS3 sets already one step in the house of the buyers

ps2 is cheaper then wii and not everyone is into the wii yet, also there are supply problems in certain places. There are many factors as to why casuals would choose the ps2, i dont think it will die out for a while.
