Forums - Sony Discussion - Hideo Kojima sum's up this generation of home game consoles.

From http://kotaku.com/gaming/go307/feature-talkin-metal-gear-with-hideo-kojima-248695.php I find this quite a good sum-up of this gen's consoles, take a look. "The PS3 is like the theatre, it's a little bit high-priced but it has to be high quality as well. The 360 is a DVD, it still needs to be high quality but you need more variations, while the Wii is almost like a TV channel, because every game you have it with your family". He then goes on to say "But like I said, MGS4 is aimed for the movie theatre, it's aimed for the PS3, so the game's scenario and graphics need this theatre-type hardware. It's when a producer has a game that can work on the 'DVD level' that a game will go multiplatform", he says. Sorry kids. Your "OMGMGS4360" banners will have to come out another day. I don't think this gen that anyone is isolated from video games, there's something for everyone.

He said this a long time ago, when he still thought the PS3 was a "dream machine" and long before he realized how limited the Cell processor was (see his recent comments for his complaints about the Cell being too limited for his vision of MGS4).

Now, apparently, he doesn't think it's such a dream machine.

Are you trying to stir up some flames after Kojima's latest declarations? It certainly seems like the "perfect" outcome for this thread at this moment.
