RE3 easily. If I buy FF7R it will be years down the line when the full game is out and there's no DLC locked behind a Butterfinger paywall.

This one is tough...and dependent entirely on my mood at the time of answering. The big three for me would be REmake 3, FFVII, and Trials of Mana.

At this exact point in time...Trials of Mana seems to be on my mind the most, and therefore gets my vote.

Playstation wins another month babeyyyyy

RE3 CAPCOM WINS AGAIN

Last year I played the FF7 demo at the Vienna Game City. Yesterday I played the demo again - improvements were noticable. It was also simply a bigger demo. Being able to take my time with it, I have to say that I love everything thy di. Gameplay is such a cool mix of things.
So FF7 gets my vote in a heartbeat. But I will have to wayt for the complete edition on the PS5. Having that whole thing, with the PS5 most probably as its main platform, thats gonna be just bonkers. Cant wait.

I'm not going to buy a game based on what "people" want.  I am buying (or not buying) the game based on what I want.  I didn't want them to change anything from the original game.  I just wanted updated graphics and remastered sound and basic things like that.  I really don't want a new battle system and I definitely don't want the story divided into 3 separate games.

Basically, I don't want them to give me the "perfect" Final Fantasy 7, because I already thought it was perfect back in 1997.  I just want updated graphics.  Any other types of changes just make the game worse.  And then splitting into 3 games is basically giving it The Hobbit treatment.  All of the hardcore LotR fans I know personally were not happy with how they did The Hobbit movies.  Well, I don't like that they are doing the same thing to FF7.

Fair enough, but you only mentioned your issue with it spanning multiple games. Not the changes.
And what I meant by "what people want" is everything people liked from the original. No matter how it's portrayed here, it's unrealistic to fit that entire world in this fidelity in one game. They said they could not do it without leaving things from the original out, and seeing what this game looks like there's no doubt about that.

Some of the extra stuff they've added is not the reason for this decision. Rather it's the opposite. They had to decide where the first game would end. And it's probably very difficult, if not impossible, to get it to end in a place that feels appropriate while at the same time considering their workload and budget. If they have the budget to get all the way to Gold Saucer in one game, is that a good place to stop with the first game? Is it worth designing the open world/map if they can only get as far as Junon?
Midgar is a special location, but it's fairly early in the game. So exploring this very diverse city and its characters even more than they originally planned to do may be a good way to offset that.

Though how that will end up is for us to see once we get to play it. And everyone has different preferences.
But my point is just that it was never realistic to get the full original game remade in this fidelity regardless. They either had to leave important things out, or go the multi game route. Which do you prefer out of those two options?

I mentioned my issue with it spanning multiple games only, because I wanted to keep my post short.  But now that we are discussing it....  I actually have a lot of love/hate feelings about this whole remake.  I mean I look at it and it looks awesome, and I love seeing Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, etc... all in modern graphics and voice acting.  But I can already tell they are messing up the story, and the story is the most important thing about FF7.  (I'll explain more below.)

The devs say they can't fit the full story into one game.  Bullshit.  I'm calling bullshit on this whole thing.  The main thing is that they think the original game is flawed.  Why did they change the battle system?  Because they say that it is out of date too.  That is part of their cost calculations.  It takes money to develop a new battle system.  Why do the trailers show all of these cutscenes with Jessie in them?  Jessie was a throw away character originally, and now they are showing off how great Jessie is.  It's because they think they can tell the story better than the original FF7 team.  All of these Jessie cutscenes are part of their cost calculation.

That is my frustration.  What I want is not too expensive for them to put into one game.  I just want upgraded graphics and sound and no other changes.  Keeping things the same does not cost money.  Changes are what cost money.  Developing a new battle system costs money.  Making cutscenes for throwaway characters like Jessie costs money.  And the cheaper version that I want would make me a lot happier than the much more expensive version they are actually making.

I also know that they have been able to make me happy on a much smaller budget in the past.  Crisis Core had much better graphics than FF7, and it had voice acting, and a new battle system, and a new story and so on.  I was extremely happy with this game.  Because the key is that they only had so many cutscenes and other content.  They edited the game properly and made wise use of their budget.  The Lord of the Rings films heavily edited down the story from the novels and they were fantastic.  Editing is a wonderful thing.  They could have made FF7 Remake one game with judicious use of cutscenes (just like the original game did).  Instead they look like they are trying to elaborate on every detail.

That is why I can already tell the Remake is going to be worse, at least worse for me.  I can't experience the whole story as one game.  That automatically makes it worse.  This is why I can love The Lord of the Rings movies and hate The Hobbit movies.  I actually really love the cartoon Hobbit movie from the 70's, but I hate the recent Hobbit movies, because they diced them up into 3 parts.  Sure they look more impressive, but they diluted the story.  The 70's cartoon is better, because they tell the whole story in one film.  FF7 Remake is getting The Hobbit treatment.  It looks a lot more impressive, but they are destroying the story.  The story is meant to be told in one game and not over the course of 3.
