Anywoo,I don't know how someone could say that this year looks like a typical WiiU year when an actual Animal Crossing game just released, previously handheld franchises are finally releasing on the console (Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, Bravely Default), a classic like Xenoblade is having a remake and 3rd party/Indies have some nice releases in the coming months.

The sole * in this would be the fact that we do not know the schedule beyond May 29th.

I dunno, based on what's been revealed so far, I'd say this year is still below, say, Wii U's 2014 in terms of worthwhile releases, to me anyway. That could change as more is announced though.

But Shulk's character is also a trope.

So what if those two are completely reboots?

Shulk's VA, Adam Howden, went a long way towards making him more likeable than a typical JRPG/anime protag, so he didn't annoy me.

And again, I'd rather all new games. I want fresh, exciting new experiences, not retreads of stuff I already played.

In the reboots, the MC become the villain and the villain become a support character instead.

At that point why not just make a new game? That would be much more exciting and interesting, to me anyway.

Can't allow Xenoblade be lonely in this.

Well, it seems very likely that it will, Nintendo has shown no sign of wanting to continue The Last Story or Pandora's Tower as IPs sadly.

Can always hope, they already did that with Xenoblade 3D, just don't repeat it with Xenoblade DE being only again.

Does Mistwalker still exist ? If they don't, I wouldn't be surprised as to why they couldn't continue these franchises.

They're still around but these days they only seem to make smartphone games sadly.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo own or at least co-own the IP though so they could get another dev to make a sequel if they wanted to.
