Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Direct Mini has just launched

All this post proves is that Nintendo clearly hasn't got enough games coming if we got so many pages of comments arguing about remake vs remaster lol.

It more proves that people make up their own definitions of Remake even if it doesn't match the dictionary.

So even if they remake the game, it's still not a remake.

Ok now you convinced me.

It's comical at this point isn't it? lol. "Monolith is Not Nintendo" "Even if you remake it, it's not a remake"

What drugs does it take to be this delusional?

Monolith chooses a name for its game. If Nintendo has nothing against it, that's the name the game will have. Which part don't you understand?

A remake (as in, a media work remake) is not the same as recreating something. I think it's not that hard to get...

So it seems like you have to download most of the 2K games when buying the physical version. God I hate this practice. Might still get the Bioshock Collection, but man does it suck.

Monolith Soft is Nintendo and ultimately has the last say in all its decisions.

I know, what I meant is that... unless Nintendo does not approve a certain name, it's up to the developer to decide. Xenoblade Chronicles is not a name Nintendo made up. Monolith Soft did. So, if Monolith wants to call this "Definitive Edition" and Nintendo does not have anything to say about it, that's how it will be called. There is no rule for the remastering naming for Nintendo products as far as we can tell.

Except Nintendo, not Monolith Soft, does the marketing (and all its publishing). And marketing has the final say in every title that is put out.

Are you sure? I remember hearing Monolith Soft calling it Xenoblade in honor of the director or something.

Nope Nintendo changed the name to honour him

That's cool.

Xenoblade fits better as something easy to remember.

Yer but does it really matter? What it comes down to is, the game is coming to switch. Some people will rebuy it cause they love the game no matter what they done, some will not unless there is substantial changes.

The best thing I heard at a Nintendo midnight launch was, "Fuck you Nintendo another version (i.e. implying its been on several system) of the same game, sigh i'll buy it anyway"

Why remaking something is not a remake ?

And how about Link's Awakening then ? Do you think it's a remaster since it's exactly the same game as the Game Boy version ?

So how about we talk about something else instead ? Like the new music coming from Future Connected. We got a sample from what could be a new battle theme or area. If you like Torna's soundtrack then you'll love the groove in this one !

It really has Torna vibes! Sounds beautiful...

The new version of Engage the Enemy is absolute gold. It should be ilegal to sound that good...
