What would make you interested in getting a VR headset?

A game (details in the comments) 1 5.88%

Fixing isolation 0 0%

Better hardware 5 29.41%

Much better price 4 23.53%

Fixing motion sickness 3 17.65%

A combination (details in the comments) 2 11.76%

Absolutely nothing 2 11.76%

Total:17

For me, it is pricing and software. There would probably need to be 10+ really good games before I would even consider buying a headset.

@DonFerrari you just reminded me that I don't have Skyrim VR! Gonna watch some reviews and probably buy it today.

Mission accomplished. I know it is hard to think of VR titles that really make you want to play it.

Well, technically I've been using VR since the Gear VR and now the Oculus Go. But that's just for porn. To actually game on VR I will need a great game first. A good open world RPG.

Also I'll need much better hardware. The current offerings are just pitiful. I need a headset that would actually fully utilize a 3080ti. And all of that preferably wireless.

Doesn't Skyrim VR qualify?

See, that's why I qualified "good".

If I can ask,

Do you play video games on a regular display?  And if so, why would it hold you back from being able to experience VR?

My left eye is completely screwed up, nearly blind, meaning i can't use VR sets. And the right eye isn't too good either

VR isn't cheap how ever I've got an oculus DK 2 and it works brilliant in DCS which is just superb

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

I'm sorry to assume that you could consider it good =]

Sorry to hear it.

Some of these things:

  • having space for it
  • better hardware
  • lower hardware prices
  • more interesting games

Having the space for VR is the dealbreaker at the moment though. I have about one meter between my desk and my bed if I move the chair elsewhere. Also, once I stand up to actually play, my monitor will be way too low for the whole thing to be ergonomic. I'm planning to get some VR stuff once I move to a new apartment, but this one's so cheap that it'll take a while before I want/need to move.

A Zelda game, if it's on par with other Zelda games in terms of exploration and gameplay.

Price and/or enough compelling software to justify the price
Having a proper space for me to adequately enjoy VR gaming
