Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony World Wide Studio Boss Hermen Hulst Q&A - Confirms Horizon Zero Dawn Coming To PC This Summer

From Playstation Blog:

https://blog.us.playstation.com/2020/03/10/hermen-hulst-qa-interview-with-head-of-playstations-worldwide-studios/

Looks like a special case - and not all PS exclusives are coming day 1 to PC in the future.  Here's an excerpt from the interview:

PSB: Speaking of experimentation, there have been rumors of a Horizon Zero Dawn complete edition that might be coming to PC… can you confirm or deny that?
HH: Yes, I can confirm that Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC this summer…. There will be more information coming from Guerrilla, from the new studio directors [Michiel van der Leeuw, JB van Beek, and Angie Smets] pretty soon.

PSB: PlayStation is no stranger to publishing titles on the PC, but Horizon: Zero Dawn is one of the largest games to make that leap. Is there anything you would say to PlayStation fans? What does it mean for the future?
HH: Sure. I think it’s important that we stay open to new ideas of how to introduce more people to PlayStation, and show people maybe what they’ve been missing out on.

And to maybe put a few minds at ease, releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn’t necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC. In my mind, Horizon Zero Dawn was just a great fit in this particular instance. We don’t have plans for day and date [PC releases], and we remain 100% committed to dedicated hardware.

I still don't know what to think. He might be telling the truth and this is a one time thing or he doesn't know or it's just PR talk and all PS releases will be on PC from next gen on.

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019

There were three ravens sat on a tree / They were as blacke as they might be / The one of them said to his mate, Where shall we our breakfast take?

Basically when all console potential has dried up they will bring it to PC, if they so choose. It begins :)

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I'm excited!

Nice.

Now it remains to be seen if they'll partner with the Epic Store like Quantic Dream or if they launch the game on several platforms.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

What an useless statement
"Doesn't necessarily means...."
Basically that means that any game could go to PC but they aren't committing to do it for all games.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Finally, best game of the gen at 144Hz.

Probably would sell even more with enhanced version for PS5, and that will probably happen.

Huh, the publisher on Steam is 'PlayStation Mobile, Inc.' That's... interesting.

Anyway, I'm not sure I'm buying the reason. I mean, there might very well be truth to the reasoning, but I imagine it's also to test the waters to see whether releasing more games on PC would make sense.
