Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Animal Crossing Direct announced for February 20

Sweet, I'm sure they'll show a lot of good new stuff here!

Around the Network

It's about time. We probably won't get a typical Nintendo Direct this month, but we'll likely get it next month.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 151 million (was 73, then 96, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 57 million (was 60 million, then 67 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

"Let go your earthly tether, enter the void, empty and become wind." - Guru Laghima

Never played Animal Crossing (apart from like 15 minutes of the mobile game) so I might watch to see what it's about.

Signature goes here!

Actually things like drinks, appetizer, salad, bread, chips, etc... make the wait more bearable for the main course.  Sure the main course is what you really want, but that other stuff makes it easier to wait.

To an extent, yes.  But at a certain point, you want your fucking main course, and anything that is brought to you which is not that is going to piss you off.

Yeah, I can see that too.  After an hour an a half of waiting, I'd be like "Enough bread! Where is my food?"  Not sure if we are at that point yet with Nintendo Directs, but we are getting close.  It has been a while since the last one.

I think we're at that time personally.  Not necessarily because there needs to be a direct every X number of days, but more because Animal Crossing is literally the only major concrete release we have for 2020.  Aside from this, and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon I don't think there are any games in 2020 with locked down release dates, and beyond that I think only Xenoblade Chremake has been given a 2020 launch window.

Is this your construction, or someone else's?  Sounds icky, to be honest.

Guys, we need to calm down. Sure, we don't know any confirmed release dates besides Animal Crossing, but that doesn't mean we won't have more besides that.

Furthermore, there are still games like Mario Kart 8 DX, Smash Bros. Ultimate and Breath of The Wild that are still pushing the Switch, so I'm sure we can hold out for a little while longer. :)

You probably should have just quoted from the previous post.  My comment was just about calling something a "Cream-Make."  Really not a very good portmanteau, or not one that conjures up a positive image.

I am a-ok with Nintendo's strategy.  They always play us like a well tuned instrument, and while that hurts sometimes, we can't deny that when they drop the info it's well timed and well appreciated.  All these folks acting like they're being robbed of their last meal or something just seem so unappreciative.  It's not like there isn't tons to play already and a mountain of backlog that we all have to get to.  Maybe I'm just in the minority here, but there's still tons of awesome content from Nintendo's 2019 release calendar that I have yet to buy or even try. I get that an Animal Crossing Direct must kind of suck for those not excited about the series, but at the same time it was to be expected and is part of what we all expected Nintendo's strategy to be.  This announcement should just at least give us the calming effect that we can simmer down for at least a week before an info drop.  And trust me, that info drop is coming, and it'll likely be glorious.

Im fine with this...it means the next one wont be about animal crossing at all :)

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Mine.  It's a really long title.  I had to cut some corners.  I apologize for nothing.

Lol at all people sad that they don't like animal crossing and waiting for next direct. Well deal with it. Us fans haven't had a proper animal crossing since new leaf.  If we can wait then you can wait.  Move along

I drink your tears
