Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Switch Online - February Game Updates

This month Nintendo will put 4 new games to the NES and SNES libraries.

NES:

- Shadow of the Ninja
- Eliminator Boat Duel

SNES:

- Pop 'n Twinbee
- Smash Tennis

Not the best update we ever had, but also not the worst if you ask me. I remember the old days back then when we had a copy of Shadow of the Ninja at home. I liked it pretty much and I can't wait to replay that one. The other three ... might not be my cup of tea.

Your thoughts?

They're not even trying, are they?

The north America didn't get Smash Tennis & Pop 'n Twinbee?

Oh wow, that's surprising! Didn't knew that!

Garbage. That's what it is. It's like Nintendo is refusing to grant requests from fans wanting certain games. Maybe it's one of those, "I'll water down the product (NES & SNES online) to keep them coming back in hopes that one day they will give us the supply we've demanded" type of things.

I checked it out again on Smash Tennis, so, it seems NA did have Smash Tennis? Or it must be just for Japan. It was as Super Family Tennis. Hella weird game lol

I'm sick of being handed crumbs and only having titles from Nintendo's two earliest home consoles. It's high time for N64, GCN, GB, GBC, and GBA games.

In their defense, these games are good, the sole problem is that people wants to cling on the hope of getting Nintendo 1st party when realistically, their catalog wouldn't much for a single year if they were to drip feed us monthly.

Also, Super Mario RPG is a Square game, they need licensing which I don't know how costly this will be for Nintendo cuz of Square's greed ...

Ah of course, it's solely the fans fault. We demanded Nintendo drip feed us for longer than a year subscription's worth, we asked them not to future proof the virtual console for a second time, and we pleaded to have old games forcibly packaged in with pay to play and cloud saves whether we want that stuff or not.

Why defend this, why advocate against getting a better deal? Assuming you're a fellow fan and consumer, how does doing so benefit you?

Hmmm assuming aren't you ? Anyway, not here to talk to you from your high horse.

I made a mistake not mentioning my post was specifically about their SNES 1st party catalog which isn't quite as big as some might think.

They've got plenty ammunitions left. But blow them all in less than a year an there will be nothing left for next few years down the line.

I do want them to expend their catalog with other generations, that'd be criminal to not exploit whatever comes after but am I gonna whine about it when I could just pop one game from my backlog and play something else instead ?  No.

You just said: " the sole problem is that people wants to cling on the hope of getting Nintendo 1st party." The problem is Nintendo, nobody else.

I'm not asking you to whine about this, I wanna know why you are whining about other people whining for change that would benefit all including you. Why do you not grant us the same leeway you grant Nintendo by doing something else instead? What is it that spurs you to their defense?
