Yes let's compare different platforms and 10 years difference between release.

Since when have a game costing 60 become something problematic or preventing a game from have good sales? 60 would only be a problem if people don't find value on that. From memory Minecraft when launching on PS3/X360 was like 30USD right? Count inflation and you aren't that much apart.

Minecraft is just as popular if not more so then it was when it launched. It’s still very much relevant as games today in the same genre. You said the price was similar, which was intriguing to me. You made me genuinely curious, but if it’s $60 when PS4 itself has Minecraft available for $20 I just don’t see it being a fair fight beyond the first 2 months.

Sure Minecraft is popular, don't remember saying otherwise. And sure I don't expect Dreams to get anywhere near that much sales. If you don't think it is fair why did you bring it to the discussion?

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Because business isn’t fair. Im saying it’s a shame that this games legs will be cut off by Minecrafts enduring popularity, especially with its PS4 version. Sony should market this game and get the most of its lifespan.

Hey I’m not Sony’s biggest fan. But even I can feel sympathy that a developer spent the majority of the gen making this 90+ metacritic title only for it to be underexposed. Because unless you are Minecraft or Mario Maker I think Media Molecule should pick a different genre to make games if Dreams has no legs. And if it does and sells great, I’ll gladly admit I was wrong.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Understood your perspective. Well yes if the game doesn't blow in couple months sure Minecraft would prevent it from keeping relevance after that.

Glad to see positive reviews but I don't think reviews will boost sales. This is going to be a word of mouth type "game". Maybe advertising can assist, but it's hard to showcase something like this in a 30 second commercial. As an early access adopter, it's a blast for creative types but the learning curve is pretty steep. I haven't even touched music.

My criticisms are:
-Too few tutorials
-Ambiguous thermo limits (explodes when you get to ~25 puppets - WHY? TELL ME ABOUT THESE HIDDEN LIMITS) - apparently there are more details in release version now but I haven't checked.
-Help me optimize. If you know I am using too many unique assets, why don't you tell me that?

That being said...I think I worked on creating a bomb that explodes for like an hour. AN HOUR for something very basic, and it was so fun. I really cannot explain it other than to say you're empowered to use the tools to do whatever you want.

Protip: Use assets other people have created. You'll never be able to put together anything meaningful creating all of your own stuff. Just eats up too much time and there are many talented folks out there who have probably already created the thing you wanted and have made it available to you.

Okay, I take back much of what I said. They seem to have adressed a lot, if not most of my complaints in the final release from what I played this evening, right down to templates for certain genres. The user created games that came up on my screen when I logged in are fucking amazing as well, one felt like I was playing an isometric indie game I'd paid 20 quid for and I WANT to go back to my session on it, which is conveniently saved. Played a bit of arts dream to see what the most polished Experience can be and if it's true that they created it entirely in the game itself then we could see some crazy things come out of the vommunity over the next few years. Proper high end indie games with polish as high as Ori and the blind forest yet only bound by that fluffy look from the graphics style of dreams when usong to much memory.
Super impressed by what I've played this evening and a tenfold improvement over the beta. I can't belive they added this much polish in such a short period of time I only have to assume that the Early access was an early slice of the game and they were already far further than that build. Now I am just waiting for a VR patch.

You convinced me / got me off the fence. I'm currently downloading it, still 5 hours before it unlocks. It's not the same as LBP 3 since many people have already been making content for a long time, thus even if the campaign disappoints, there should be plenty to get ideas from.

I didn't bother with a physical edition for this since it will just be an install disc, all the content is online. Plus now my kids can use it as well on their ps4 (set to primary with my ps+ account)

Good thing I checked the ps store, firewall zero hour is a freebie this month. A psvr game I did not have yet :)

I was not expecting those high scores😮

Yeah the game is $39.99 not $59.99.

Good reviews!!
