Currently stands at a solid 82% in Rotten Tomatoes:

And here's the trailer:

It seems the movie is actually enjoyable to watch? Feedback appears to be pretty positive.

It seems to have a compelling villain, and ridiculous over the top scenes that are just sheer fun. I had initially written it off as yet another DC flop, but I'll probably be watching it soon now.

Around the Network

I'm planning on seeing this one for Galentine's Day, as it sounds/looks like a goofy, fun celebration of female friendship, appropriate to the occasion.

Then again, Suicide Squad was terrible, so my hopes are balanced against that record.

I doubt it's particularly good. All the promotional material makes it look like a Harley Quinn movie masquerading as a team up movie, which means it's likely all the characters end up getting short changed, and the movie feels like it's stuck in an awkward middle ground that doesn't fully give anyone what they're looking for.

I really liked Suicide Squad and I'm a fan of Margot Robbie's Harley so I'm probably going to enjoy this one.

I love DC comics and I actually enjoy most of their movies but I'm kinda shocked. The trailers looked pretty bad and I wasn't expecting much from this film.

Now I just hope it makes a decent amount of money. I'll be seeing it this coming Thursday or Friday when I don't have to work.

Around the Network

6.8 on IMDB seems very forgettable.

From what I've heard it's a pretty good film. Reviews I've watched have varied from decent to very good, so on the positive side in general, but Suicide Squad being such a disaster might ruin any chance of Birds of Prey becoming a success simply through association.

Awesome! But DC still needs to release two more Certified Fresh movies consecutively before I give them another chance.

Would have liked it to be more focussed on Harley Quinn herself.

How about watching it before forming up an opinion to counter the people who have, you know, actually watched it?

You know, just a thought.
