Has anybody else played the demo yet? It's about two hours long. I liked the demo, but I hope the difficulty really ramps up in the main game. You run around a grid based dungeon with a teammate following close behind you. Most teammates can use artillery-like attacks that hit from two squares away. Each Poke'mon has four moves like the main games. If two Poke'mon share a move they can level that move up faster together. There's a hunger meter, and you can link moves so that you can put out two moves in a single turn. Moving, attacking, or using an item takes a turn. Every time you take a turn enemies and allies also act. There's a lot of room for cool strategic gameplay here. Unless difficulty ramps up in the real game though, I don't see it being all that fun.

As someone who played the original version of it, yes the difficulty will increase.... There are some dreaded dungeons..... urgh.... some dreaded dungeons.... I still wonder how the hell I beat that Jirachi one..... hated every second of it.... gonna have to do it again... oh god..

The beginning is quite easy but then you get to Zapdos dungeon and suddenly the difficulty is exponentially increased.

Honestly though, the bigger inventory space right from the start makes it more easy than it ever was. In the original you always were in need of healing items.
I don't think that'll be the case this time.
Anyway, I liked it.

BTW, the artstyle is BAE ! I like the artbook style that looks like some of the pictures from the old games :3

Yeah they really nailed the artstyle. I have a Bachelor's in Game Production, and I'm finding it very hard to tell where textures end, and models begin.

The main story itself is fairly chill on difficulty, besides a couple of annoying Pokemon, there isn't really anything that could give you much issues.

The challenge comes from the extra stuff, kind of like a main Pokemon game in that sense.

I tried it, having never played a Mystery Dungeon game before. I felt the game shows it age. It seem fairly basic in terms of the gameplay and also in the level design.
Having not played the games before, I don't know if it gets a bit more developed later on in the game.
Also the art style takes a bit of getting used to. I don't hate it but it also feels a bit lacking in terms of what has been done elsewhere, even in Sword and Shield or Lets Go. It just feels a bit bland.

The demo was pretty poorly done. You only get to access two tutorial dungeons, then it cuts you off right before the first challenge of the game (where everything starts picking up!) They should have either stretched the demo until after Mt. Steel or just not had it at all.

Yeah, that's the feeling I got too. It would be like having an Etrian Odyssey demo, where you don't get to fight a FOE or FloorBoss.

What about celebii...?

At least, it's becoming your friend by the time you meet it, unlike jiraji, which you have to fight it, after striving to survive 99 floors and retain friend bow, albeit celebii level is much harder...

I had tried three times, three f@CK@ng times and it didn't follow me.

I know this is an ancient game but could you use spoiler tags next time?
