Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Exclusive new FPS built from the ground up for Wii: Conduit

I wonder if Sega would actually publish this? Weren't they just talking about how developers shouldn't be pigeonholing the Wii? Now's the time to back up what you say.

If they can spare the funds.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Wow this actually sounds pretty exciting. A developer for the Wii trying to shut up the other "can't do much" developers and putting their talent where their mouth is. While their list of credentials is questionable in most areas, the fact that they're the developers behind Hunter the Reckoning is a big bonus for me. I'll definitely keep my ear to this game. Kudos to them for stepping up and saying the Wii can do more than what developers are giving it. I don't see any reason why they can't find a publisher. Expect them to have one by E3.

The tech-demo is nice but I want to see the actual game. That said, the Wii needs to show that a game like this will sell for them and if it does then the other two will be in big trouble.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

The graphics definitely still leave a little to be desired, but overall it's looking good. I would say the most likely people to pick it up are Activision, Capcom, Sega, and Ubisoft (They may not want it against Red Steel 2).

I'd guess Ubisoft is the most likely to pick this up. They could just push it to spring/summer 2009 if Red Steel is aiming for Cmas, or vice versa. Whoever picks it up, I doubt they will give it a media blitz.

Nintendo certainly isn't going to pick it up. While some here might like this developer's philosophy, it isn't necesarily Nintendo's philosophy. Not that they won't publish shooters, but they'll be focusing on "bridging" between the Zapper low-end and the CoD high-end, not pulling that high end down from 360 to Wii for "hardcore" Wii owners.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

looks awesome, cant wait for it

i hope its successful like red steel and sells 1 million +

I betcha this will sell about as well as no more heroes. people got so hyped about NMH and it sold like crap.

Wii owners don't want FPS's, they want another mario game. Just look at the sales. Mario sells, games like Red Steel and NMH don't sell that well.

Well you had to realize he didn't take his medicine when he started going on about NMH "selling like crap" while the freaking developers are celebrating because of how well it did sell.
