Already 6200 death reported today. Looks like we will unfortunately have another new global daily death record today.

There is no need for the USA to be the WHO's largest donor when we already fund our CDC with $11b a year. All the other countries can foot the bill for the WHO.

Completely agree. That way they have more money to pay our NATO bills.

The USA is NOT the largest donor of the WHO.

As if other countries wouldn't have their own CDC equivalent. But that's against the point of the WHO, which is more to coordinate and organize the health effort of all the countries.

Edit: I do agree that the WHO is bloated, though, and needs to be slimmed down a notch. And their treatment of Taiwan due to pressure from China is despicable. But outright removing the funds will not solve anything. In fact, it would rather further reinforce the Chinese position, which is already pretty strong. Besides, the part that the US pay to the WHO was $400M, and if those go missing then it will most certainly negatively impact their health emergency programme, which is getting used right now to research for a vaccine for the Coronavirus and to support weaker or heavily affected nations/regions with medical supplies.

That's good, because he means that there is no need for other countries either. I mean the US already exists.

They are sowing the seeds of a fucking revolution with these arrests. A fine for breaking quarantine guidlines should be the absolute limit but why the fuck don't they just tell people to leave the area and go home. Someone here in my area got a 2000 fine for going to the shop twice in one day but that was on Eastern Sunday, that was enough to put the fear in people aroubd here.

Because of two reasons:

People are scared, and scared people do stupid shit.

And most politics have that little dictator inside them, which now is the perfect excuse to let them out and abuse a bit of their power.

Other countries can at least try to fund a CDC equivalent.  Don't worry, the US CDC would be happy to offer consultation services for dirt cheap.

Agreed. The USA gets a greater return on its investment in NATO than the money it donates to the WHO.
