I hate the waiting but i have so many games that i haven't even bought yet so i'm not too mad.
But still, it would be weird if they don't have a game for April/May/June and i don't think they would wait for like april to announce it. Maybe they will wait for March but still that's a bit late imo.

I think there might be some pretty good reasons to why they are pushing it back this year, wether they are waiting on Retro to have a little teaser for Metroid or another big game like Bayonetta 3, Botw 2, etc.

Our largest voting choice has fallen and we’re on our way quickly through the next. Should we all just start assuming the next Direct will take place in March? Seems everyone is piqued like a tightly wound piano string just waiting for some new gaming news. Remember the good ‘old days when we all just had to wait until a convention to get our news fix? Those were the days.

If not in a week this will be the longest period with no general direct (176 days).   The last general direct was 4 september?

I am hoping we get a Direct by the end of the month. Showcase more of Animal Crossing and announce the games they plan to release in the second half of 2020. Right now it is looking rather empty.

They could be waiting a bit more to see if the decline of the virus gets confirmed. From that they can evaluate accurately the damage on their supply for the next 4 months and take the decision to push Animal Crossing for a release on June to not screw up its launch because of the shortages of next April.

Well, I hope Nintendo isn't holding out for Bayonetta or Metroid. While people on this forum like to pretend they're big, it's not really true.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Animal Crossing Direct announced for 2-20, but that doesn't count as our official Nintendo Direct for this thread. What it certainly does, though, is knock this week out of contention, and very easily next week as well. If you haven't picked your poll option yet you can brag about being right with far fewer choices to choose from. ;)

I wouldn't say no to a Direct on my birthday...March 2.

Neither would I, and it's not even my birthday.  Haha.  Happy early birthday in case we all forget.

Thank you. I'll be the young age of 32.

You laugh...but that is young.  Enjoy those thirties.  I'll be hitting the big 44 this year.  Funny, though, when I was a kid/teenager growing up I remember thinking my parents were so old.  They were your age.

Metroid is a pretty popular franchise. There hasn't been much games that were able to prove that. Federation force was imo a mistakes considering the lack of mainline Metroid games. Other M wasn't well receive (i really liked it tho), and the remake on 3DS released when no one was still putting money in this console. But imo, the franchise is a lot more popular now with smash and just cause people are more aware of Nintendo franchise other than mario now. I'm sure that, if good and doesn't release the last year of Switch lifecycle, MP4 can easily outsell the other games.

Bayonetta, same thing but on a smaller scale. But still i think the 3rd one can sell over 2 millions. Astral chain got to over a 1 million in a couple months, was announce pretty out of nowhere and is a new IP with gameplay way more niche. And Bayo is in smash no, not as a DLC

ND missed my birthday and now we have an AC ND... hmmm
