I guess the person doesn't really like to play, the person just like to have something to distract him from his daily life.

My opinion is if you need portability to play games, then it is time for a new hobby.

tbh even with long train trips or bus rides, to say school or work, its way to distracting to sit down and game.
Theres too many distractions, thing you need to pay attention too, and times you need to get up, move along bus->train->bus ect, that interrupt you.

It sounds neat, but in actual fact, its rather sucky to play games that way.
I'd rather bring a ebook with me read or such, where stuff like that isnt a big deal.

Also sitting out side on a bench, or under a tree in abit of shade.... to game.... people dont do that often from what I found.
Its also often wet/rainy/ and cold where I live so.

Portability is neat, but its not the be all and end of all, when it comes to gameing.

Playing atop the shitter is pretty dope.

Dude...you guys have obviously never experienced the joy of console gaming at work. I probably got in at least 100 hours of Zelda BOTW time, not to mention Stardew Valley, Rocket League, and Mario Odyssey while on the job. The fact is, while I love gaming, I have so much going on in my life that I sometimes have to steal minutes and hours away from the day to get in my gaming sessions. Doesn't mean I need a new hobby; it means I'm trying to cram my hobby into a very busy life. Nothing wrong with that.

Except everywhere, doesnt have Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
Only one place has it.  Its likely the "biggest" game that will release in 2020.

Cyberpunk is gonna be another big one, which again you cant play on a Switch.
2020 Switch might not be the best place to play things.

By what metric, exactly? Because I'd be willing to bet that it'll be smaller in terms of sales than FIFA 21 and this years COD game (those 2 probably beat it on PS4 by itself, let alone all versions combined). I kind of expect TLOU2 to outsell it as well.

When I said biggest I ment = budget, quality, graphics, Story, expectations, wow-factor (you get CoD+Fifa every year) ect.

TLoU - part 2 + Final Fantasy 7 Remake + CyberPunk 2077 are the "big" tittles for 2020.

I expect them all to get pretty great metacritic scores too, but that wasnt really what I ment by "big" titles.
These are "the movers & shakers" that will push hardware, akin to a new Zelda Breath of the Wild or Mario Oddessey.

Some games are great enough, to make you go out and buy a console if your lacking one.
These titles are that type of games.

I think Ghost of Tsushima will be huge too... Ubisoft refused to do AC in Japan for over 10 years, people really want this game.

It should be pretty great too, however I think its a step below those 3 others.

One of my favourite games of all time being remade to new fantastic graphics and I could be as excited for it as I am for a new CoD, as in not. Different gameplay, split up story, changed mechanics.

I said to people at work that if all this new gameplay, button mashing non-strategic gameplay was in the form of FF16, I'd be all over it but it's not. They are remaking FF7 with it instead. I want FF7 remade, not whatever they are making.

I want to be exicted for it, I really do but fears of it being like FF13 and 15 (as in meaningless button mashing bullshit) will ruin the game.

Hmm, pie.

I do play on my phone like 1h a day or somedays even more, but I don't even count that as gaming because it is very limited.

I drive to work and everywhere all day so I can't just do the play while commuting so portability is a no factor for me. I really like the big screen.

Nope. I believe most work while at work.

Nothing wrong with you using the scraps of time you can to play and portability allowing that (smartphones also allow it).

The problem is the number of times we get people pretending the game suddenly became better (or is more gaming) because it is on a small screen, on a shaking bus with loud noise breaking the immersion. How can that really make the game better?

PS5 isn't even out yet and Sony are already dissing it? Ouch!

"PS4 is a better place to play games than PS5" from Sony themselves

Well until November 2020 that ad is true, they may have to change afterwards =p

So what you meant was "in my subjective opinion"? Yeah, I thought as much. For the industry itself it's definitely not the biggest game of the year though.

Plus I can practically guarantee you that more people have bought a PS4 for FIFA or COD than will buy one for the FF7 remake.

We know you are just tormenting him.

Eh, I like the PS4 and especially PSVR, but sorry, there's nothing this year that could even remotely compete with Half-Life: Alyx. So no. =P

Valve have talked about having a PSVR port of HL.

I'm sure there will be a port sometime, but not on PS4. It can't even run Fallout 4 VR or Elite Dangerous VR.
