Half the roster is FE. How many more do you need? I like Xenoblade but I am not asking for Rex. Shulk represents the series fine enough. May as well be 25 marths. Worse than Mario Kart Baby Marios and Metal Marios. It's a really lame way to fill a roster. If you want all 8000 FE characters in an FE game then put it in its own fighting game. BTW I like FE games but this is too much.

It is hard to take you serious like this

Don't really care what you think tbh.

Than this incorrect whining really shouldn’t be taking place

This pretty much tells everything. I am not saying that all FE are the same, but the addition of another fighter from this franchise feels like nothing at this point.

This series are not near as popular as other Nintendo franchises, so is understandable that almost everyone are rolling their eyes by the announcement of a whoever protagonist from a franchise that is very well represented in this game.

I will not be surprised if we get another dull Nintendo characters addition just to make fanservicing. *looking at bandana dee*

That makes it 4 guest characters, and 1 Nintendo character, for the Fighter Pass.
2 Nintendo characters if you look at all DLC. (Piranah) And you can count Banjo as a Nintendo classic, so that would make it 3 - 3.

I think that looks reasonable at this stage, where they've already used so many of their own characters.
I can understand why some people are upset about "another FE swordsman" aesthetically, but how they play differently from the rest is more important imo.

Style switching is a game-changer for one of the best games ever made. But I already have the game a couple of times physically.  So unless they patch it in for PS4. Oh well. I hope new players enjoy it tho.

Yeah, it makes it the definitive edition of the game in a substantial way, which will interest a lot of die hard DMC3 fans, I'm sure.

I'm expecting a lot of crazy combo videos on youtube.

I haven't played DMC3 but I assume this means you can change fighting styles on the fly when you couldn't in the original. Is that it?

Actually, I think we need more rep from Nintendo franchises for the next Pass.
People or too caught up in the 3rd party ordeal that they forgot Nintendo is at the center of it all still ...

Anyway, you can't fight a god like Sakurai.
So, not satisfied ? Do not buy it then, simple as that.

Its funny cause these people complaining probably already bought the Pack which includes all 5. So in the end they will still have Byleth in their roster.

You cant just judge it by this picture. Sakurai seems to be a big FE fan. He has rights to include characters from his favourite franchise.

Pocky Lover Boy!

Overall, I never felt such a void of emotion watching a new Smash Bros. character, neither anger or happiness, just nothingness. And I say this as a fan of Fire Emblem.

I will also say that it stings that the likes of Byleth and Corrin got a pass despite being super recent, but he puts that as a barrier for someone like Rex from Xenoblade 2.

And I'm not super happy with Cuphead's Mii costume, I would consider him more on the level of a fighter or assist trophy, I just interpret that as them putting Cuphead on the same level as Sans, and while I love Undertale, Sans is there more due to the big meme status he got through requests and the like rather than because of Undertale itself. But that is just my conspiracy theory.

Creates a game with 70 characters including every character from previous games so everyone can play with their favorites.
Adds highly requested characters like K.Rool and Ridley.
Includes about 900 songs.
Keeps development going an extra two years to add more purely optional characters to the game.
Works with third parties to add characters, even from rival platform makers.
Adds a character from Fire Emblem.

DAMN YOU SAKURAI WHY YOU NO CARE ABOUT FANS?!

I don't think he meant that new is necessarily a barrier in that regard. But rather that because he wasn't chosen for the DLC fighter pass, and is new, the window for when Rex would even be under consideration is more limited. When fans started requesting him, they may have had to wait until Fighter Pass 2 was greenlit before discussing his inclusion. So Sakurai added a Mii costume instead, because that wait would be long.

If Byleth had not been chosen for Fighter Pass 1, it may have also taken a while for him/her to get considered. But because Three Houses released closer to when discussion over who would make the Fighter Pass 2 shortlist began, Byleth fans may not have needed to wait as long as Rex fans to see him/her in the game.

Well by the time they announced the first Fighters Pass, at least according to Nintendo and Sakurai, every spot was already chosen, same with Pass 2 now, Three Houses wasn't even out at that time, so it comes off for me as a really bad excuse that Rex wasn't considered because he was new at the time, it was almost a year after the release of Xenoblade 2.
