Square Enix has delayed the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake from its previously planned March 3 worldwide release date to April 10, the company announced. It will be available for PlayStation 4.

Find a message from Final Fantasy VII Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase below.

We know that so many of you are looking forward to the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake and have been waiting patiently to experience what we have been working on. In order to ensure we deliver a game that is in-line with our vision, and the quality that our fans who have been waiting for deserve, we have decided to move the release date to April 10, 2020.

We are making this tough decision in order to give ourselves a few extra weeks to apply final polish to the game and to deliver you with the best possible experience. I, on behalf of the whole team, want to apologize to everyone, as I know this means waiting for the game just a little bit longer.

Thank you for your patience and continued support.

God dammit Square! That's way to close to Cyberpunk plus I'll be serving in the army, I was hoping I would get to play FF VII Remake before that.

Bummer. But I have been waiting nearly two decades for them to announce a remake. And now that they are making it, an extra month of wait isn’t going to be that unbearable.

I want the game to be as good and as polished as possible.

Now as long as we don’t have to wait for too long for the other parts once this one has come out...

At least SE is consistent with their traditions.

The announced release date of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon must have scared them. Good on them for avoiding the fierce competition.

Exactly, what scared them though was the DX on the title!

It upsets me that in the back of my mind I was betting on this happening. One month isn't much, though, so hopefully that means no more surprises. How is S/E so bad at being on time with their major releases.

So FF7, RE3 and Cyberpunk all in the same month...wonder if RE3 or Cyberpunk will also be delayed.

Good Friday seems like an odd day to release.

FF7 Remake, Persona 5 Royal, and Cyberpunk 2077 are the 3 games I want most this year, and now they are all extremely close to each other, I dont really have the money to get them practically one week after another, so honestly at this point I'm hoping Cyberpunk gets delayed by atleast 2-3 week just so I can have the time and money to go through them all.

This date actually works much better in my favor so yay!!

Don't mind this at all. I have enough games to get through as it is, and if the extra time allows them to iron out some bugs and other issues then I see no problem with this.
