I wonder how long it's going to be until all three platform holders are out of E3, and it starts getting used only by 3rd parties.

That will be so disappointing. I'll miss the days when the E3 empire was ruling the seas.

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019

You seem to think that it is just a handful that think you don't like Sony or do warmongering.

You seem to think anyone cares. The fact that you’re even talking about it shows you take this way more seriously than most do here. What does any of this have to do with Sony skipping E3, by the way?

It have to do with you enjoying an opportunity to show it as bad news and decision of Sony. Like a I don't know, pattern.

Uff, not a great fan service for me.

E3 was and IS important for the industry.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Another nail in the coffin for E3.

It seems to be the case indeed. Also with the internet as it is nowadays, it's much cheaper to simply make videos and upload them giving people all the info they need, videos like State of Play or Nintendo Direct.

I hope they still do conferences at E3 or elsewhere cause that was fun to watch but yeah, I get it, why spend millions of dollars to get a space at E3 when you can just make a video and freely upload it on Youtube whenever you want and with as much info as you'd have at E3.

I believe that if E3 wants to survive this transition they need to become a 100% people's oriented kind of event, like GamesCom or the Paris Games Week cause organizing an event just for professionals is no longer relevant. They know this since they began allowing people to attend these past years, but what I'm saying is they need to move full steam in that direction by completely opening to everyone who wishes to attend.

This is the exactly sort of attitude that is ruining this world. Let's replace a live theatre presentation with some pre cooked video with some unknown kind of female robotic voice like on State of Play. Or even cheaper, let's replace everything with just a playlist of trailers.

That's why good wood furniture was replaced by cheap furniture that don't last 3 years. That's why glass bottled coke was replaced by cheap plastic bottles that ruin the seas and cause cancer or whatever. That's why shoes that could last 10 years were replaced by Nike crap. Well, not exactly, but you know what I mean?

I do get the people that don't give a damm about e3. It's a matter of choice and taste. But I believe that certain decisions don't have to be made just because there's youtube and it sort of solves all problems.

God bless You.

Well I saw Sony saying E3 is important but they won't participate... didn't see they downplaying it.

Literally everyone should see it as bad news and a disappointing decision by Sony, unless you're some shill on their payroll. We're all gamers, we should all want a great E3 showing. Per usual, you aren't making sense. Do you think if MS said they were bowing out of E3 we wouldn't be seeing the same disappointment from people such as myself? I doubt there would be as much delusion regarding one companies importance to the survival of E3, but we'd still be disappointed. Either way quit bogging the thread down with your petty nonsense. At least it was entertaining when you were going on about dreaded DORMANT ACCOUNTS

You know what else literally everyone sees as bad? Xbox One holding Xbox Series X back!

Not all of us are from the future, our apologies

But Nintendo still have floor at e3. They also do competitions before e3 too like Splatoon, Smash, and super mario maker.

I understand but it's really just about the conference, that's the real meat of E3.  Since Nintendo's been doing Direct for their own E3 it never really felt that Nintendo was there even if they have the floor, it just felt like fillers instead.

I agree that Nintendo and EA are basically doing the Diet Coke version of E3, where they are kind of there, but they are also not doing a full presentation.  The Diet Coke version is kinda lame, but it is also better than nothing, and it recognizes that E3 is still the premier gaming event of the year.

Last year Sony didn't even do a Diet Coke version.  I kind of understand why too, because they really didn't have anything to show off.  Nothing big released last year from Sony, and they wanted to keep everything PS5 related a secret.  There is no good reason for Sony to skip E3 this year.  They are releasing a new console.  Even if they only release a video during E3 week, they are still going to get more attention than if they just do their own thing at another time.  E3 naturally gathers people's attention simply because it is the gaming event of the year.

Why? Why should a video in early June gather more attention among the deluge of other gaming news then it would at any other time?

I really don't see why a reveal at the same time as E3 would give it any more attention than a reveal at another time. If anything at other times it'd get more exposure because every gaming site isn't putting out 50 articles a day with all the information released all at the same time.

Be among the hundreds of announcements, or have the only announcements... ?

The PS4 was revealed in February 2013, do you really think that event didn't get enough exposure? E3 isn't needed to get everybody talking about your product.

Switch didn't appear at E3 at all before it launched and had no problems.

Yes I'll pretend that you don't enjoy opportunities to talk bad about Sony, ep.

I have seem two types of dominating answers and none was celebrating Sony not going to E3, it either was people upset or saying it may not affect Sony release of PS5 because they will use other means to market it.

But celebrating we have one saying that is Sony showing they take customers for granted and how that will make PS5 worse for all of us (a console he doesn't intend to buy), we have you taking opportunity to "not console war" give some jab, etc.

And let's also ignore the "if you don't complain about this you are a corporate shill", I guess we can call you that whenever we don't like a MS decision that you support right? Ow no because you are neutral not a partisan.
