For starters, you're referencing a rumor as if it's factual. Secondly, they are delaying it to optimize the game? What is the alternative, release it unfinished? By unfinished I mean, not optimized and as free as possible of bugs and glitches? I mean, they said the game is finished and playable, but has a lot of kinks to work out. Why would they not delay that?

Oh man that sure sounds rough. I assume you have credible CDPR sources to back this up? Because I saw their press release about the delay, I read the transcript of the conference call. None of this was mentioned. Secondly why in the world would they need to remove entire parts of the game across all platforms LOL. This is crazy. And why does it need to run at 900p on Xbox One?
goopy20 said: It's not exactly new that developers show their game how they want it to be like and release an almost different game entirely. People keep mentioning AC Unity and how it could have easily been ported to the ps3 without the crowd mechanics. The fact is that that game was too ambitious for it's own good even when skipping last gen consoles. This is AC Unity could have been, but hardware limitations didn't allow it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptQ-XqaoHGI . In the end they basically had to cut whole levels and the multiplayer features out of the game and that wasn't even a cross gen title. |
Uh, what? It's very rare that a developer shows off a game and then releases an entirely different game. What are you talking about? It might not be new, but it's extremely rare. Not even worth mentioning. And what am I supposed to learn from that Ubisoft video? All that you are describing sounds like poor development management. "too ambitious for its own good" doesn't sound like a good thing for any game regardless of what platform it launches on or what generation.
You can look back to some of Microsoft's own games to see that they don't develop cross gen games with the weaker hardware in mind and then just spruce up the graphics for the more powerful hardware. You've been giving examples numerous times in this thread about the opposite happening. You've been giving numerous examples of other developers employing the same development strategy. For someone who claims to be optimistic, you sure do ignore all the positive info given to you and focus only on potential negative assumptions you're making.
