Well I look forward to Sony offering their game on a cloud service and I won't have to worry about their HW. Sony is being left behind right now in term of gaming service, overall value and cloud services. Doesn't look like Sony will revamp there PS Now to be more like a Xbox Gamepass service. Brand loyalty is only going to take Sony so far when consumer won't need to make HW investment to enjoy Xbox products.

We have a long ways to go before the Cloud or game streaming becomes the norm.  And if at some point xCloud/GamePass comes to PS5 or PS6, Sony won't care.  They'll be getting a cut of that revenue.

Sure a long way to go just like physical disc game will never get replace by digital future.

Exactly.  Still making discs, aren't they?  In fact, there's a company whose sole business is to publish digital games on disc.  And Hell, they still make CDs for music.

Won E3 2019

No. Nintendo and Square took it easily. Nintendo had a great showing. Square remembered they are an RPG company.

You're right, Nintendo and Square also won, but Sony doesn't have to attend E3 to do E3. Sony was making huge headlines at other companies shows like Square Enix, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and Kojima Productions, Death Stranding. You can only play both of those game first on PS4.

As far as Google trends is concerned, XBox won that E3.

Sony is doin it right when it comes to their branding. I applaud them.
I mean, you don't see Lamborghini or Ferrari's, or ANY car company changing their logo with every new car released. You see the logo, you KNOW it's a Lambo or a Ferrari with ease. Same with PlayStation - their logo being the most iconic in all of gaming. It became so because it was always so from the very beginning.

Usually I don't even need to see the logo to guess it is a Lambo or Ferrari (or even masserati or Merces-Benz) and more than likely I'll get it right because their design philosophy have been quite consistent and yes their logo have stayed about the same from a lifetime.

It's actually such a strong logo that we know it even in words "raging bull", "ramping horse" "three pronged star" "the trident", etc.

Spot on.

The most effective method is that you go through Hot Topics one thread after another and post pornographic images in every thread along with the threating text that you will keep doing this again and again until you get permabanned.

However, this isn't something I can recommend in good conscience, because while good for you, it's very detrimental to other users who visit this site.

@TruckOSaurus

I know you won't like the thought of having to meddle with moderator decisions, but can you please make an exception here? All Replicant wants is that he gets a self-requested permaban granted to move on from this site, because the ability to post keeps him coming back and getting involved. So instead of going through all the troubles of a commotion, like rampant trolling, flaming or pornographic material being posted in order to achieve a permaban, are you willing to cut this short with minimal effort and damage to all parties involved?

Now I understand why you post what you post, you are trying to get your permaban because you can't avoid the urge to come back while you can.

Good for Sony that there so much worldwide appeal for the play station brand. I like how moron are comparing Sony and Microsoft and pretending that Sony and Microsoft are on equal footing on the world market and that Sony as only recently been destroying them. The gaming market is normally divided in 4 segment America, Europe, Japan & World. Sony has always dominated Japan, Europe and the World and only during 360 era did Xbox win america over Sony.

It's not a good thing when a corporation doesn't need to deliver and their customer will buy their brand regardless. This kind of reaction to just a logo isn't sending a strong message to Sony that customer demand a good quality product with PS5 with superior services and quality games.

I guess we are all excited to see the final spec on PS5. It's clear that Sony is going for a best bang for your buck and wants to offer $399 consoles. They really have no incentive to give their costumers more then they need to since everyone will blindly pick up what is being offered.

I agree with first point and partially with the third. But your second is speculation at best, Haven't seem any PS console taking customers for granted and not trying to offer a good product because of it (no matter how many claims of PS3 was the fruit of taking for granted or arrogance, the console was great the problem was the price).

People are liking the PS5 and looking forward to the PS5 because Sony always delivers.  They deliver quality HW, not always the most powerful, and more importantly, quality exclusives.  MS has a lot of work ahead them if they want to top the PS brand.

Then since you have Google Stadia and Xbox Cloud service for the multiplats and MS games why then don't you just buy PS5 for HW and nothing else?

A better choice. I would say Nintendo won the E3.

I'm not saying that Sony will deliver a bad product, they will simply be able to make cut back since they know that the consumer will buy it anyways.
Sony could really future proof their console by adding a bit more power for slightly less profit or they could increasing the size of the SSD HD. But, there really no reason for Sony to go above and beyond since they know that the system will sell regardless. Also, limitation to the current PS5 is going to make the PS5 Pro that much more appealing and will result in even more profit for Sony. There is actually a financial incentive to make the PS5 slightly less powerful. At the end of they day, Sony will probably get praised for making the cut back since most consumer wants a price point of $399.

What have they done to PS3 due to "it will sell anyway"?

They lost 200 USD per console sold for like 3 years on PS3, how is that "future proofing for slightly less profit"?

There is about 0% chance of Sony taking market for granted and that meaning they will deliver a cutback console. It is more probable (still almost 0) that Sony will launch a very strong device for a too high of a price. Sony do premium products for more expensive than their competitors instead of cheaper products by cutting corners in basically all the markets they compete.

And for 4 gens they have always released a system that loses money on the first couple years on the HW and offset that with SW sold and royalties, PS4 was the first one to break even very fast and also to receive new forms of revenue.

Sony won't fuck over just because their logo got more excitement than MS reveal.

Sony releasing a system for 399 or 499 means that the HW will cost 50 to 100 more to make than the MSRP at launch, if they decide for the first due to mass market price that isn't taking customer for granted, that is trying their hardest to reach as much customers as possible.

I don't have Google stadia and Xbox Cloud service ins't available in Canada. Well I do own a Xbox one X and PS4 slim, I just never use it the PS4 :P
I'm a console gamer only, all of my computers at home aren't used for gaming at all. I want the best consoles experience available. I will buy XSX on day one and might pick up a PS5 when the price is right.

My problem with sony consoles as always been the PS controller ever since the PS1. I understand that in the early days the joy stick were added as an after though. The PS1 dualshock analog controller simply added the joy sticks on the bottom of the controller for convenience but with each iteration of the controller Sony kept the same stupid design. The D pad which is less used then the joy stick now a day get the premium location on Sony controller.
