Top 30 is out

Switch almost Top 20...
NSW: 26
PS4: 4

Heh, Switch has the top 19 spots.  Just one game at #20 prevents a clean sweep of the top 20.

You know sometimes when the hardware sales go down, software sales can continue.  We can even get situations like Just Dance 2020 selling on the Wii even though it's been discontinued for years.  But right now...the Japanese just aren't playing the PS4.  Almost the whole country has moved on.  At this point they are just looking for what else is going to be released on Switch.

New releases were still quite competitive between the PS4 and Switch until the (1st party) big hitters released for the Switch. And this is with a higher install base and a very active userbase.

So the PS4 discount promotion is still going I take it?

It lasted until January 5th

So, how far will the PS4 drop next week. Down to 5k?

With everybody buying the console while it was still cheaper I expect abysmal numbers for the console next week.

Oof! Almost a clean sweep for the Switch, and that during a time where the PS4 was massively promoted.

Maybe next week Switch will actually be able to make a pure top 30. Probably not, but it won't be far away from it all the way until the release of the next gen.

Really can't say that when we usually get a january direct.

Yes we can, Nintendo isn't going announce a major game in mid-Jan and release it in Jan/Feb.

Nintendo slapped us in the face with the announcement of a new Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, set to release in early March.

Well, it's not as big of a deal as NSMBU Deluxe (sold ~750k retail copies in Japan so far), but it's also notably more important than Tokyo Mirage Sessions.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

Shipped+Digital was 860k at the end of September so probably ~1 million through December.

Mystery Dungeon will be lucky to sell 1/4 of that lifetime.

That doesn't contradict what I said. *slaps zorg*

Mystery Dungeon probably will outsell Tokyo Mirage Sessions lifetime in it's first week.

TMS barely counts as notable release.

The entire argument started when you said nothing on NSMBU caliber would release between now and Animal Crossing.

A game that sells a fraction of that means we were right, so nothing came to slap us in the face.

Shipped+Digital was 860k at the end of September so probably ~1 I'million through December.

Mystery Dungeon will be lucky to sell 1/4 of that lifetime.

I'll take that bet.
