Perhaps you are having a bad case but overall the patch is an improvement

https://kotaku.com/latest-ori-and-the-will-of-the-wisps-patch-is-two-steps-1842731719/amp

For me the patch made the game run a lot better. It went from stutters every few minutes to maybe every half hour.

I've no doubt it improved original Xbox One  and S performance. But there was hardly any issues on X before this patch and now it's much worse.

There's 4 from my count.

  1. Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky - The Outer Worlds DLC.
  2. Chris Parker - AAA RPG.
  3. Adam Brennecke - Grounded.
  4. ???? - Josh Sawyer.

#4 is interesting, Josh said he wants to take a break from directing but he is still writing, he says he is the only writer on the project which rules out Outer Worlds and AAA RPG team and if he was on Grounded he would state it so it has to be a 4th project but we don't know who is directing it.

Feargus said he wants to return to directing now that he doesn't have to worry about the business side of the company, maybe he is directing Josh Sawyer's project to help him out, though I'd honestly prefer Feargus to co-direct with Chris if his project is the AAA project cause I think it'll need more veteran leadership on it.

Could be Brian Heins, He was a Senior Designer on The Outer Worlds and Directed Tyranny before that.

Sawyer presented Grounded at X019, I’m pretty sure he’s involved in that game.
Obsidian is a type of developer that does not need to hire a lot of devs for crunch work. They need MS money to get Sumo Digital as a support studio to do the heavy lifting.

Yes!!!! This is huge and you made my day. It’s just a hunter but the color isn’t a coincidence. The Banished being the main enemy faction is the best route 343 can go for.

- Brutes haven’t been in a Halo game in 10 years. Would be great to have them return.
- Their armor and vehicles have the classic art style down but with “Brutish” design modifications. Old meets new and therefore pleases everybody.
- Unlike Storm Covenant that was Elite centric and didn’t have Brutes, the Banished let any race join their ranks (enemy variety).
- Cant simply keep inventing new Covenant variants. It’s getting old and all major Splinter factions have been wiped out.

- The Banished aren’t confined to a planet but are a mobile flotilla of ships. Atriox and forces on the Ark are just his flagship fleet. The rest of the Banished are within the galaxy consolidating their power. It makes sense they would be a major player even after Cortana seizes power because again they are a powerful yet nomadic faction.

This is the welcome variety 343 needs in their enemies. This is a big confirmation that their writers are on the right track.

Looking like all of us Halo fans wants the Banished to be the main villain in Halo: Infinite. They are far more interesting than Cortana, what's his name from Halo 5 that you beat a dozen times over, and the Prometheans.

Warden Eternal. The Promeatheans are ok in smaller doses. They shouldn’t have been the main enemy faction in Halo 5. That said I hope to see them fully realized (forerunner tanks?!?!) :)

It's possible if Atriox is there that he will join forces temporarily with the UNSC to take down Cortana, Atriox isn't an idiot and unlike a lot of Brutes is willing to work with species they dislike. Cortana's army is huge and likely way too much for any one faction to defeat, it wouldn't be a good idea for The Banished to pick a fight with UNSC and The Created, but after Atriox helps defeat Cortana he goes back to his evil ways.

Question is, when Cortana is defeated, who gets her army?...

The Didact :)

Great, now I want Didact and Atriox to meet and converse too.

What if Atriox steals the army and Didact comes after Atriox for it.

I'm trying to decide if they would work together...On the one hand, Didact is racist to basically everything, Lmao. On the other hand they might have a low-key respect for each other as military leaders. Then I don't think Atriox would want to be under anyone's command but his own...They both would happily destroy humanity together...They'd both be thinking constantly about when to backstab the other.

The Didact wouldn’t work with anybody equally. He would allow subordinates but by no means will he see any alien as a partner. Technically he is “xenophobic”. He sees aliens as inferior but has respect for all forerunner classes.

They should show Halo Infinite MP in the May event if it's real so we can have a length campaign section for June.

My gut is telling me when Halo Infinite is finally shown, at the end Phil Spencer gonna do the shock value with “play the Beta STARTING NOW”.

Glad to see that Gamescom didn't drop the ball like E3 and will still have a digital event.

Man, I see the thread has all these new responses, thinking something big got leaked or whatever, only to find out there was a new toy announced lol.

Honestly, while I too lament the fact that we know so little about Halo Infinite, and that MS hasn't ramped up marketing for it yet, all these response here show that MS is doing the right thing. You want people to be starving for it, and that's clearly what's happening. Now they just gotta make sure they stick the landing when they do eventually roll out the red carpet.
