Gears Tactics coming to console "later this year" and it has gone gold.

Damn it does look like we're getting the holy trinity for Series X launch.

Music to my ears

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Ah was about to slap myself getting gamepass for pc the moment it became free

Agreed. Not to mention our stimulus packages are massive... How very labor of the liberal government.

We're going to be in debt forever but... At least we'll rebound from covid rather quickly. Well, I hope so anyway.

We are always in debt.

Being in surplus doesn't mean we aren't in debt... It just simply means the Government isn't spending more than it earns.

Even during the Howard years when we were in a surplus we still had a ton of debt racked up... We are a sovereign nation with complete control over our currency, the government is currently buying up all the debt... So it basically owes money to itself.

If we wanted we could pay all that debt off overnight, but the economic ramifications would be extremely bad as you would need to play with inflation and so forth.
You want inflation to trend below economic growth generally.

Yes, though Microsoft gets paid and reports to investors in USD. So the specific reasons why the USD is much stronger than the AUD right now are not overly consequential.

Our ties to China are certainly strong. But China's performance is also strongly linked to the USA. One of our key links is services, particularly education. It will be at least 12 months before that recommences en mass.

Ultimately I hope you're right, and our rates see those parts of our economy not reliant on overseas rebound relatively quickly.

The China-Australian link isn't reliant on the China-USA link as China has been building it's economy to be more independent, so when China initiates stimulus and lots of building projects independent of what the USA is doing, they look towards us for resources and we profit greatly, which is what happened during the GFC.

Plus just because the USA is doing badly doesn't mean there isn't a world-wide demand for chinese products.

The main issue is when multi-national companies like Microsoft go to convert their overseas cash stockpiles to USD, generally they don't do that often until the exchange rate is more in their favor and just horde money locally or in tax havens like Ireland... Or in the best case scenario... Reinvest back in those regions.

Either way, it should be interesting to see how this affects the Xbox Series X going forward, personally I think it will be a non-issue.

Glad to have a confirmation about an Xbox version of Gears Tactics.

Still expect Forza to be revealed before E3 but I wonder if that's what he means, I doubt anything major is getting revealed before E3.

Could be he's been funny saying you ain't gotta wait until June 2021 :D

.....but a full Series X/Lockhart reveal with FM8 as a tech demo in the next 3-4 weeks seems possible before their big "E3" show of reveals they had planned.

Has there been any news about Fable recently?

Next week I [IGN's Miranda Sanchez] have a very very very exciting piece going up on Monday, so please stay tuned for that. It will be very relevant to Xbox audiences.

https://youtu.be/BqsdriM0TwE?t=4440

Time to find out what Miranda likes so we can figure it out! Jk. Hmhm, Lockhart maybe? Idk.

Loving this steady flow of news coming out of Xbox.

I know she's a big Gears fan so possibles Tactics?

Maybe it's better forXbox to have one focus area every two weeks. It could help build the image of Xbox getting much more content. Something like:
Late April: Gears Tactics
Early May: New Forza
Late May: Minecraft Dungeons
Early June: Perfect Dark
Late June: Xbox Lockheart
Early July: Fable IV
Late July: Wasteland 3
Early August: Xbox Series X details
Late August: Grounded

And so on

They can leave the third party stuff that was planned for E3 to X0 event later in the year ahead of Series X launch. They can fill Inside Xbox with Stay with Me and smaller third party stuff or marketing deals like Cyperpunk.

MS coming out with a fairly generic $499 price tag before Sony with the intention of matching/dropping to $450 if Sony takes that route, We saw AMD slash their prices after Nvidia revealed better prices before their product actually released not long at all after their first price reveal either. I don't think either company will want a $449 price tag but I think both will be willing and preparing to match if the other goes for it to try the undercut.

I also don't think the BOM will be much different between the 2 consoles with Sony spending more on SSD and the controller been $20 more than Xbox wouldn't be a surprise to me either and with Xbox having a higher cost on the GPU, CPU and RAM.
