Forums - Movies & TV - Netflix's The Witcher surpasses Disney's The Mandalorian according to 3rd party tracking firm

Witcher show is amazing, already looking forward to Season 2. Outside of a few Marvel movies, I don't particularly care about Disney.

Around the Network

Interesting stats, what do torrent stats say was the most downloaded lol?

Cough, Pokemon, Cough.

Pokemon is first in terms of revenue, but I would be surprised if more people on the planet know what Pokemon is compared to how many know what Star Wars is. There's barely anyone in the US that hasn't watched at least one Star Wars movie, and based on the foreign box office I'm sure that many hundreds of millions more outside of the US have watched at least one. Star Wars lack of popularity in China hurts it for sure, since China is like 1.4 billion people, but I still think Star Wars might top Pokemon overall in terms of mindshare. We know that at least 1 billion people know what Pokemon is, because Pokemon Go passed 1 billion downloads.

Nah mate. More people know about pokemon 7n my estimation. And regarding Mindshare, I think more people know about Superman than anything else. You can go into the villages of poor countries and they'll have some idea of who superman is while no idea about pokemon or star wars

I think more people know about Pokemon than Star Wars, especially in Asia which has the largest population. I suppose Asia= west in Star Wars vs Pokemon, so I guess the question is what do Africans and Middle East people know better Pokemon or Star Wars?

Nah, India and China alone cross all of the west so no competition there. Plus the middle east I think knows a lot about pokemon but not much about star wars. No clue about Africa. But everyone knows about Superman, that's for sure

Can't say I was a big fan of the show to be honest.

Very clearly trying to piggyback on the success of Game of Thrones, not that there's anything wrong with that per se, but it was too grey and brown, lacking the colour and charisma of the games. (Yes, I know it's based on the books, but still, the grim desaturated thing is overdone and boring and a livelier look and feel would've been a lot more compelling)

Henry Cavill was actually surprisingly good in the lead role, but Yennefer was an unlikeable bitch, which is a problem as a lot of the show rests on her. Renfry was way more sympathetic, interesting, and attractive,

Spoiler!
which is again is a problem when your most appealing character lasts all of one episode.
