Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Port Specialist Saber Interactive Says They are Working on Several New Switch Games

I'm curious about him using the word "creating"; wonder if he's referring to all new titles instead of more ports.

This is one of the few cases where I actually hope the games in question are ports rather than new games as I can't recall Saber making anything original of noteworthy quality, yet I would love to see more PS4/Xbone ports from them after their amazing work on Witcher 3. RE7 plz.

Well the Witcher 3 team may very well get contracted for more high end ports, since they did such a great job with that one, depending on the cost. So it's definitely something to keep an eye out for.

After the Witcher 3 they've certainly proven themselves extremely capable at bringing "impossible" ports to Switch, I definitely hope they continue to do so.

Wonder if one of them is the recently rated Metro Redux. Kinda hope not as I'd rather they work on something current gen.

I want Binary Domain and VanQuish on Switch on cart.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Hopefully ones of those are RE2 and RE7.

Good gravy, I would crawl through a mile of broken glass for a competent port of RE7 to Switch by a studio like Saber or QLOC. It's one of my most wanted games, but I don't wanna have to buy a whole console just to play it.

And it would be an easy port too. But crapcom is crapcom.

Agreed. If games like Witcher 3, Wolfenstein II/Youngblood, and Hellblade can be ported to Switch, there's no way RE7 can't, it's 1080p/60fps even on the base Xbox One for heaven's sake. Crapcom have this weird obsession with refusing to give Switch decent support.

I hope they are working on original games, since they use the term "creating". Often times dev studios get their early work doing ports until they feel competent enough to make original games. It seems like their programming skills must be exceptional based on how Witcher 3 is reviewed. They are probably ready to create their own unique games at this point.

I see it more as Capcom milking Switch owners before porting current-gen games.  Like, if DMC5 is a possibility, they won't be doing it until they've ported DMC1-4 (and maybe even Donte May Cry) at inflated prices.  Likewise, since they've already ported all six mainline RE games, there's a good possibility that they'll port RE7 this year at full price while it's being sold for $25 everywhere else.  They're treating Switch owners like shit but I don't think Nintendo cares much because they're not depending on Capcom to churn out system sellers for them; just games to fill out the library.
