The Last of Us for the storytelling, and the first game to really, really push graphics like never before this decade.

I find the last comment interesting; TLOU definitely looks amazing by PS3 standards, but "the first"? Didn't games like God War 3/Ascension, Uncharted 3, etc in prior years of the decade also "really, really push graphics"?

I really need to play GoW3 then! Uncharted 3 didn't look too good to me, and I played both Uncharted 3 and TLoU back to back.

Obviously what "looks good" comes down to personal preference, but I thought God of War Ascension actually looks even better than TLOU. (Though it's not nearly as good a game overall)

really hard to tell between:

dark souls
god of war 3
witcher 2
donkey kong tropical freeze
mass effect 2

but I think I will go with dark souls because it shaped my gaming taste for the coming years, while follow up games of witcher and god of war took a bad turn.

What? God of War 2018 and The Witcher 3 are some of the best games of all time.

OF ALL TIME! BRO!

I personally can't stand the first three God of War games. Only one I liked was PS4/2018, and that was outstanding. Didn't personally like Witcher 3, myself, but man you're being contrarian on that one!

There's something so pure and freeing about that game, which goes back to the game design mentality of the 80's with all the modern capabilities and advances of the 2010s. It's simple and free and open, but it's also polished and nuanced and pretty.

Best Zelda game in a long line of great zelda games. I still like Link to the Past better, for nostalgia reasons, but BOTW is objectively a better game.

Breath of the Wild, an experience unlike anything i've ever played

Arkham City Wii U. Was the best integration of the gamepad I've played and it made the experience perfection.

There's been some fantastic games this decade, but I'm gonna have to go for Yoshi's Woolly World. Yoshi's Island is my favourite game, and although Woolly World doesn't usurp it, for me, it's the closest anything from the past ten years came to recreating the magical feeling of playing the original.

well, I liked witcher 3 for it's story and dialogues but I'm not the biggest fan of open world games, those worlds are huge, too huge and mostly filled with checklist activities if I try to remember witcher 2 I remember that beautiful kind of closed but still big landscape which I still see in my head, because I had to search every corner of it. if I try to remember witcher 3, I got glimses of the citys but I can't really remember the world, all I see are just question marks on the map I followed with the gps system.

god of war 2018 isn't a bad game but for someone like me, who is a huge fan of the original games, it was just a big disappointment, I loved angry kratos, I loved those brutal detailed gore fights, fights against of variery of huge enemys, non stop action or adequate puzzles. in god of war I got a walking simulator, a looting chest simualtor, a horrible endgame grind, only few enemys and bosses in which most are just reskins and too much backtracking.

So what you're saying is that you prefer the shallow gore and spectacle over the depth and nuance seen in the 2018 edition? That's fine, I love a good hack and slash, but man I can't stand how shallow, boring, and repetitive the combat is in the original trilogy. Plus I hate Kratos in those games, he's probably my single most hated character in all of gaming.

And about Witcher...like, did you and everyone else just not play the same game? It was hailed and revered for the fact that the quests weren't just checklist porn. One of the greatest things about that game is that every side quest and side story was well written and well balanced with the rest of the game, with the stories of some side quests being better than other games have in their entire length. I think you just misunderstood that one.
