Sorry but how is it hard to see someone putting in those hours if they enjoy the game? I've seen people put in those kind of hours in games like Monster Hunter and PSO.

i know how frontal lobe destroying half of that time is in a game that is less monotonous so double that time feels really strange to me, especially in a game like Rocket league that has very samey content. Monster hunter at least has an hamster wheel that is near endless with RNG to boot same with MMO's like PSO plus they have the whole social aspect. Games like Rocket league at that dosage seem mind melting.

Online games are always unpredictable thus stay fun. I've poured nearly 2700 hours of driving time in GT Sport in 740 days. That's about the same pace, 3.5 hours a day, about 14 online races a day on average. Seems a lot, and it is, but I do everything that needs doing in the down time while the game counts down to the next race. 3 races an hour, 11 minute race, 9 minute wait. 2 tvs in the living room, one dedicated to gt sport. I play with the sound really low, no voice chat, just race while watching tv. Some people can't stop touching their phone, I'm racing instead.

Time to boot up the game, off to Bathurst while working out in between the races.

I can't pick one.

A three way tie between LoZ:A Link Between Worlds, Batman: Arkham City, and Super Mario Galaxy 2

very closely followed by: Fire Emblem Three Houses, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Super Mario Odyssey

1doesnotsimply

Persona 5.

Skyrim VR
Never before have I been so immersed in a Game. VR itself is what defined the last 10 years of gaming for me. Skyrim VR is the game I spent the most time with.

Close second: The Binding of Isaac
You can play this game over and over and over and over. It never gets boring.

100% agree on VR. It's crazy just how immersive it is.  It makes you want more games to support it. RE7 and Skyrim are pretty nuts in VR.

Though, I'd have to give it to Astro Bots. It was the first VR game I played and shows how great a platformer can be when you feel like you're in that world. It's also one of the more fleshed out games, where some of them seem more like extended tech demos.

On a side note, I hope Sony eventually has London Studio make a full fledged London Heist game.

Well, I've spent over 4000h on Rocket League, a game released in July 2015. I think it's a fair estimate that I've played more Rocket League in this decade than every other game I've played combined. So yeah, Rocket League.

Special shoutout to Elex who had at least a good try at giving me a new Gothic game this decade. Can't wait for the sequel.

And another shoutout to DQ11, FFXIII Saga and WoFF for keeping S Tier JRPGs alive.

How in the holy name of hell can you play 4000 hours of Rocket league. I thought 2500 hours of FF14 was insane and a good third of that is AFK time as it's an MMO and in four years playing that game took a toll on my mind. I can't imagine 4 years of rocket league at double that pace, has your brain not turned to mash potato?

Rocket League is a very cathartic game. I put it on whenever I need to have something to do with my hands but don't want to think much. So I put on music or my everlasting youtube queue and play away. I should mention that about half of those 4000h I played alone either in training or against bots.

I love playing with friends casually or fully concentrated in ranked. I like the thousands of customization items and since they introduced the Rocket Pass I'm compelled to play even more. I'm also very much engrossed in the esports side.

Rocket League basically completes my person. It gives me friendly social interaction without pressure, childish delight when getting new items, catharsis when just trying to relax and heart pumping entertainment when watching high level sports. At this point the game has become an integral part of my life and it's great because it is so simple, yet so fulfilling.

note: While I'm writing this comment I'm ingame in training with my watermelon themed car and I'm having the time of my life.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Breath of the Wild clearly.

I've played many games this decade but clearly this one hits different. A masterpiece and instantly legendary, it's rare games that you play and you just know it will be iconic later on.

That's somewhat similar to me and Overwatch. It's my go-to online game and just default diversion if I want to play a game but don't want to get too wrapped up in learning a new game or only want to play for 30 mins or something. I can kick back and relax by playing against bots, play with friends in a more casual setting, mess around with the Arcade Mode options, or buckle down and go full-blown competitive, which is usually a lot more stressful but also more thrilling.

Rocket League is also becoming a sort of secondary default option for online gaming for me, especially when playing with my cousin who doesn't have Overwatch and isn't too keen on it but loves Rocket League. Only problem is I'm still not so great at RL heh.

Breath of the Wild, easily.

Runners up are Dragon Quest XI S, Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Ni no Kuni.

3 way tie between Botw, pokemon white 2, and persona 5. I try so hard to choose but I can’t

If I had to pick one game per year I reckon I'd go...

2010: Mario Galaxy 2

2011: Xenoblade Chronicles

2012: (This one is hard, not sure I can even think of a clear winner...)

2013: Bioshock Infinite

2014: Bayonetta 2

2015: Witcher 3

2016: Doom

2017: BOTW

2018: (Nothing)

2019: So far Luigi's Mansion 3, but I'm gonna hold off til I've played Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair to decide.
