If critics are not liking this one, that's very encouraging. It means that the film refuses to drink the kool-aid of social justice and actually tries to get back to what the franchise has originally been about and what made it the giant that it once was.
However, as many of you have already stated, I fear it's just too late to correct the ship at this point. Too much damage has been done. Not going to see this in a theater, but I will catch up on it on a streaming service later. Just for the sake of completion.

I watched every Star wars movie in cinema that I could until this movie, the newer trilogy was just a waste of money and somehow much much worse than Episode 1-3. I probably won't watch this one for years.

Well, Finn was going to get killed and she did in fact save him, even if the dialogue afterwards is not the best. I don't think there's that much more to say about the scene.

Did you find it funny that after Rose spoke of saving the ones they love, the resistance base is blasted by the order's laser?

It was going to be blasted anyway. I didn't really like that particular scene tbh.

That was pretty damn funny. Though that scene does show the wasted potential to do anything interesting in that film. Finn, a character who seemed to mostly care about himself, chooses to sacrifice himself to save the Rebels. Even if it would have only bought them time to escape, it was something. Instead we have subversion for subversion's sake. And then the Order just stands there and allows Finn to spend a half hour dragging her body back to the base. What a threatening villian.

Non-threatening villains is certainly a part of the problem in Disney's trilogy. There's little tension when the villains are not too threatening.

Movie Critics are strange I would take this with a grain of salt. Rogue One is far and away the best of the Disney movies and it ranked low.

Considering that The Last Jedi eclipses most of the original triology an rogue one, I dare to say that it doesn't say much.
