Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox Series X Announced (Xbox Scarlett)!

It looks great. Minimalistic & crisp, a device that I wouldn't try to hide if I am to place it in a modern living room.

Xbox: Series S & Xbox: Series X are both perfectly servicible names in today's tech climate are a much better foundation for future iterations, like Xbox: Series 2s & Xbox: Series 2x.

Couldn't they just ditch the "Series" that's the main problem with it. It's too long a name. It's like having an "IPhone Series 11". They don't.

Xbox X
Xbox S

Xbox 2X
Xbox 2S

After the good looking Xbox One X, this design is pretty lame imo.As for the name, most people seem to think it sucks based on what I´ve been seeing, but really, they´ve always been bad at naming these systems..Xbox - Xbox360 - Xbox One/Xbox One X - now Xbox Series X...different from PS systems which are simple, straight to the point, no potential confusion..PS - PS2 - PS3 - PS4 - PS5.

That said, the name Series X implies it´s more than one system so it might be that each system in the Series X line has a different name,so the individual names might end up not being that bad, who knows..

Tried to work out the size of the console by using the controller as scale.

Xbox One Dimensions = 7208cm3 = 33.3cm x 27.4cm x 7.9cm
Xbox One S Dimensions = 4342cm3 = 29.5cm x 23cm x 6.4cm
Xbox One X Dimensions = 4320cm3 = 30cm x 24cm x 6cm
Xbox Series X Dimensions = 6570cm3 = 29.2cm x 15cm x 15cm

So in terms of volume it's smaller than the OG XBO, a fair bit larger than the XBO S/X.

Looks like a pretty cool mini pc but I think they are shooting themselves in the foot with the design. How's anyone supposed to fit that thing under the tv?

You take into account the controller is a hair smaller? Using the disc drive would be better to figure out it's size.

I didn't know the new controller was apparently smaller, this uses the XBO controller dimensions. Don't know why they'd change the size of the controller. xD

I'll trying using the disc drive instead, the problem is any extra length the slot has over the actual disc dimensions.

It looks like it's two-ish BL disks high, meaning it's around 25 cm, or size of an iPad. If it helps with the thermals, I don't mind. The last thing I need is a jet engine fan like in PS4. I wonder if you can put it on its side?

Two gamecubes duct tapped together nice.

I'm wondering why they named after the smartphone-like models, and the tower case is you know everyone knows it's more like a PC mini tower that branded by Silverstone.

Using the disc drive as scale instead of the controller.

Might be generous on the size, might not be, hard to say.

Xbox One Dimensions = 7208cm3 = 33.3cm x 27.4cm x 7.9cm
Xbox One S Dimensions = 4342cm3 = 29.5cm x 23cm x 6.4cm
Xbox One X Dimensions = 4320cm3 = 30cm x 24cm x 6cm
Xbox Series X Dimensions = 6180cm3 = 28.6cm x 14.7cm x 14.7cm   (Drive as scale)

Xbox Series X Dimensions = 6570cm3 = 29.2cm x 15cm x 15cm  (Controller as scale (XBO Dimensions))

With the new controller apparently being smaller it seems likely that the volume is between 6000cm3-6500cm3
