There's no way that they could have made that senua trailer and designed the final retail form factor in 2 weeks(?) to respond to rumours.

It's just like buying into the current rumours about the hardware. Plain silly.

Having discussions around the rumours is fine but this reveal simply puts them to bed.

The design of the console make me think it is true as they really did not put much work in designing it ? Moreover Hellblade 2 is early in development. Which probably means at least couple of years from release.

All the more difficult to make an in engine trailer, no?

They base the design around what's inside. Either way, it still puts the rumors to bed.

remember when xbox was called an x box because it resembled an X?

I will say, it is nice to have the endless rumors and speculation out of the way and to have a concrete answer regarding what it will look like and what it's called.

It's only ramping up. We still don't know what is inside it. Not to mention the PS5.

Seems to really be having a positive effect on the site though which is great to see. Especially for us old timers who've been here for a very long time. 😂

If xbox is more competitive next generation, it could have a flow on well into the generation.

Yeah as a fellow old timer, I was gonna say it's definitely livened up the forums a bit! We'd reached a point where there wasn't that much left to say about PS4/Xbone.

(Woooo, post #30,000!)

As the sales analyst, the guy who updates the hardware figures and the main writer for the site seeing the forums busier and article views a bit higher than they have been all year makes me happy. Lets continue this momentum going into 2020 and beyond!

You just need to get with the modern standard for headlines on your articles if you wanna see things really pick up around here.

Try something like "Hellblade 2's blatant endorsement of Satanism calls into question the morality of Ninja Theory, and the gaming industry as a whole."

I still kinda expect a Microsoft guy to come out and say it is not the name of that one box, but the name for a few different boxes including this one. And this one (being part of the Series X) is called Scarlett, Anaconda, really anything but what it currently sits on.

Sounds better than just calling the console itself "Series X".

Scorpio became One X and Scarlett became Series X

Now it was said that Scarlett was or would be a family of devices, so odds are more likely right now we're going to see a another Series something.

Series X, Series Y, Series Z, etc.

This way they can now follow up with something like Series XS for the slim version. Then maybe Series 2X or Model X afterwards ('next gen') to show it remains in the same performance group but a step up within the same family.

I sure hope they don't do something worse like calling each model, Series X1 (Lockhart), Series X2 (Anaconda), Series X3 (future), etc. This wouldn't be much of a problem if they ditched last gen, but having XB1, XB1X, and XBSX1 on the shelves, would be terrible marketing.

*They could actually get around this pretty easily by just skipping Series X1, and going to Series X2. Make X2 Lockhart, and make X3 Anaconda, or if they have discless versions in mind, maybe leave X2 for the discless Lockhart, X3 for Lockhart, X4 for discless Anaconda, and X5 for Anaconda. This would actually put Anaconda on the same number scheme as PS5, which would be smarter marketing.

I think the best thing to do is make the Lockhart its own letter designator. Anaconda is Series X, Lockhart is Series S. Future iterations should be Xbox Series 2 X and Xbox Series 2 S. This is simple and easy to understand.

The Worst thing they can do now is go into the Xperia line of naming. If we end up with something like Xbox Series 1, Xbox Series 5, Xbox Series 10, Xbox Series Z, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series T, Xbox Series XZ, then it is going to completely confuse consumers just like Sony has done.

With multiple tiers, there needs to be a clear identification of what is the Top, Middle, and Low end, in addition to what is current, and what is prior.

I hope they are able to brand and market it in a way that the masses can understand. It would be a shame if they deliver a great product, and have it fail, in part,  due to bad branding like we saw with WiiU and Vita.

So I should make all the headlines click bait?

Noooo, no, that's got such a negative ring to it. Attention grabbing headlines, that's what it is
