Forums - Sales Discussion - Nintendo Switch Outsells Xbox One Worldwide

System with low end graphics, hardly any big AAA multiplats, and basically no multimedia supports easily outsells system with better graphics, full AAA multiplat support, and multimedia capabilities.

All the things people said would sink the Switch turned out not to matter so much after all.

as multiplats go everywhere these days, exclusives raise in value.

To be fair, that system is the Xbox One which a dumpster fire.

Not trying to take anything away from Nintendo.  I think we can all agree the the Switch is brilliant, but let's be honest, the Xbox One sucks.

Sony want to make money by selling art, Nintendo want to make money by selling fun, Microsoft want to make money.

Congrats to Nintendo! But Switch is still just getting started. Sales are still accelerating. The Switch still has a hell of a journey ahead of it.

I still think this is its peak year, that said next year will still be fantastic for it.

I'd say next year will be peak. Likely price cut + AC + probably BotW 2 + one more major first party game (Mario?) + Xbox dead and PS4 dying next year. I could see 21-22 million next year.

That's it; exclusives matter, as both Switch and PS4 trouncing the Xbox One week after week demonstrate.

Xbone ain't a great system, that's for sure, I wasn't saying it was. But it did have all the things that people cited the lack thereof as severe handicaps for the Switch. I simply meant that people overestimate how much those things matter at the end of the day.

Well deserved! Next stop: SNES.

Reasons as to why?

I wouldn't use those words myself, but as someone who kinda agrees in so far as I have no interest in purchasing one, it's mostly cos (A) the hardware itself is unappealing to me and (B) there's hardly any games on it that interest me. That said, I'd say the same thing about the PS4. Just not my cup of tea.

Not being interested in a platform is different from saying 'Item A sucks'. That's my issue with it.

Yeah fair enough. In hindsight it does come across as a bit of a driveby, at least as it is without elaboration.
