Never played system shock.

Bioshock 1 and Infinite are both in my top 10 games of all time.

Actually just picked up the Complete Edition of the latter to play the Burial at Sea DLC I missed out on; will play it in January once I finish Witcher 3.

I've only played Bioshock. I thought it was a good game in spite of it being FPS, a genre I normally don't care for at all.

Irrational Games

Hmmm... atmosphere and story wise I like Bioshock 1 the best. But the problem with that game was that there was no real penalty for death, so you were free to just charge in whacking things with a wrench till they died. Infinite made an actual penalty for death. Minor really, but enough to make you care about surviving.

Never played any of the System shock games.

Never played either but Infinite is on the table.

Bioshock and System Shock 2 are among my favorite games of all time. Though, at the end of the day, i'd say Bioshock. They're both such great franchises nonetheless! Still has me shocked that the immersive sim genre isn't very popular nowadays...

I'd recommend playing Bioshock first.  Don't want to spoil anything, and you can definitely get 95% of what's going on without ever playing Bioshock, but the story will be much more complete if you played Bioshock 1 first.  You can safely skip two though.

First Bioshock is way better than Infinite if you can live with a bit older graphics.

As for the poll I voted SS2. The game is probably a hard game to play for people now since Unreal Engine 1 graphics show their age. But for all the things people praised BS for (except the setting) SS2 had already done it.

I held off playing BS for years, because of the stupid reason that I got irritated that BS got praise for being ”inovative” with things SS2 had allready done. When I finally played BS I did actually like it very much, but SS2 was still first.

I love Bioshock 1&2, didn't care much for Infinite. As for System Shock, i'm never played it. My pick is Bioshock 1.

System Shock games were too scary for me back in the day. I did try both of them though.

Every Bioshock game is excellent, but my favorite by far would be Infinite.
