Best looking Switch game, end of 2019 edition

Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Best looking Switch game, end of 2019 edition

I haven't actually played it myself, but from what I've seen Dragon Quest XI is a strong contender.

LTD: PS4 - 125m, Switch - 110m, XBO - 51m

2020: PS4 - 9m, Switch - 22.5m, XBO - 2.5m, PS5 - 4.5m, XBX - 2.8m

Here's a non-exhaustive list :

Yoshi's Crafted World, Breath of the Wild, Link's Awakening, Astral Chain, Xeno 2 : Torna the Golden Country, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the Tourist (it's not even half a GB thanks to compression !) and Luigi's Mansion 3.

Pretty much what I could think of on the spot ...

Seems your crystal ball was accurate, now that DF's analysis, and indeed the game itself, is out. :P

I'm really surprised only one person besides me said Witcher 3.

Personally I didn't think that the witcher 3 looked that great, that being said, after a few hours of playing the sheer scale of what was going on really started to sink in. It is truly a technical Marvel when it comes to scope and scale and I'm amazed they got it running on Switch at all. It would top a few other 'best' Switch categories for me but the graphics took an understandable hit. Though not enough to detract from the game in any major way.

It's between Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Pokemon Sword & Shield.

Don't forget the mind-blowing beauty that is Ark Survival Evolved.

I am starting to think some of you guys have missed some of the most beautiful Switch titles or you have seen them but like other games more so are leaning toward those titles or something. Best looking does not mean anything about the overall quality so I am just going to go on looks alone:

Asphalt 9 is the best looking game I have seen on Switch. I literally thought I was playing an XBOX One title. Fucking astonishing what they did there.

Actual honorable mentions go to (in order):

Manticore.
Implosion.
Fast RMX.
Luigi's Mansion.
Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Surprised that you and I are the only ones to mention this one so far. It looks awesome, especially given it runs at a full 1080p docked/720p portable.

Asphalt 9 looks nice but has technical problems and an unconsistent frame rate... and it is ridden with microtransactions.

The dozens of flashy "buy me" buttons per screen and the shady game mechanics that make it tedious/impossible to progress without buying something make it hard to enjoy the game or the graphics. So most people will probably delete it immediately after 5 minutes.
