Its all about preventing him from winning the election. If he loses, this impeachment will be dropped faster than a bag of hammers.

I know nothing of substance will come of it even if the impeachment succeeds but it will do two great things. It will notch Trump down a peg and it will partly restore my current non existent faith in US politics and judicial system to actually function as they're supposed to in a democratic nation.

Wait? Isn’t the charge effectively treason? Opening up to all sorts of punishment ranging from removal of office, to imprisonment, to execution by firing squad?

Ousted? Conspired? Ambassadors are not ousted. They are appointed by the President and affirmed in the Senate. There is nothing nefarious about changing an ambassador with any new President. The only thing odd is when an ambassador resists their position to be changed to another.
