I really dont get the obsession with a Switch Pro, a Switch model that surpasses PS4 at $299 just isnt feasible until the successor comes out.

They could have given Switch a performance boost with the Mariko chip but chose to go with better battery life instead.

Yeah there is just no point in my opinion. Switch isn't about graphics. Just wait til 2023 and do a proper generational successor.

Yep, Switch is already in a weird middle ground between PS3/360 and PS4/XBO and a Pro released in 2020/2021 is still going to fall in that middle ground so the people who care about specs/graphics are still going to shit on it for being weaker than 7 year old consoles.

Exactly. Why spend all the R&D on a Switch Pro when the minority asking for it are just going to bash it for still being too weak and not buy it anyway.

The best I see Nintendo doing is something in line with the New 3DS / New 2DS line. Slightly more power, but all games still work on the original Switch models.

Those numbers were to be expected. Really strong Switch sales and 6 year old console sales being down.

Year 2023, GTA VI is finally released for PS5 and Xbox Scarlett but new 2023 Switch has PS4 level of power so GTA VI is not coming for it again :

Reggie said in 2013 GTA V was in production for so many years that's why there was no Wii U version as Wii U was brand new in 2012.

And that's a shame, cause even if 2023 Switch is weak, it could receive a downgraded GTA VI port maybe if Rockstar had dev kits 2 years prior?

A Switch 2 released in 2023 should be able to significantly outperform the PS4. Switch 1 uses a chip from 2015 but outperforms PS3/360 which came out 9-10 years before that.

I mean to me it is surprising that Switch would be like significantly ul from last year with the same bundle. Proves that the momentum for it is still driving up without any price cut.

The thing is, by the time it's viable for Switch Pro to outdo the PS4 with reasonable pricing, they'd be better off just waiting a year or two more and releasing a full-blown successor with a generational leap in power over the original Switch.

Yeah, minor adjustments and  minor upgrades.

Going by the claims of BF's performance with Switch being significantly up yoy next weeks focus will be on Switch and X1 for most part as one closes or possibly passes the other next week.
