For originality and scare factor: 1

For innovation and accessibility: 2

For art style, graphics, and humor: 3

I'm not sure I've felt this divided on games in the same series before lol

Luigis Manson 3 is my GOTY in 2019 however i think overall Luigis Manson 2 might be the better game overall. But its a very tough call between 2 and 3.

Tagging.

I haven't played the 3rd yet, so I can't vote. I am interested to see how this turns out though. The first 2 are definitely solid little games. I enjoyed both a lot. It has been a long time since I played the first, so it might be a bit of nostalgia, but I do think that the first is a bit better than Dark Moon.

I enjoyed the large interconnected mansion a bit better than the separate stages of Dark Moon.  I also liked the unique portrait ghosts better than the somewhat generic boss ghosts of Dark Moon.  The 3D effect in Dark Moon is amazing though.  It is like you are looking into a little model.

I never played LM2 myself, but both 1 and 3 were excellent.

Ultimately I think I have to give it to 3 for offering more content.

Tough call. Haven't played enough of 3 yet so I feel I can't really comment too much on it but it may end up being my favourite once i've completed it!

Between the first 2 it's really close but I'll just about go with the 2nd. I liked the different mansions, the puzzles and the bosses all better than the first game - It just felt like it had more overall variety. The 1st one wins on originality, atmosphere and charm for me though (that and the portrait ghosts were really fun - the one disappointment with the 2nd game was the exclusion of them!). When it comes to longevity this is where the original falters, the game is unfortunately quite short and other than completing it again there's no real reason to re-visit. At least LM2 has more collectables and challenges that mean you can come back to it and replay some of the missions.

In the end there isn't much between the 3 of them - they're all really fun games that I would recommend to anyone!

I need to get my hands on 3. LM1 and LM2 are both great for different reasons.

Generally I liked LM1 more despite feeling that LM2 was a better game functionally, but the separate stages of LM2 let it down and I felt LM1 had a better atmosphere, which gave a more lasting impact in my mind.

While I cannot comment on LM3, the studio seem to have learned their lessons from the previous game and they've been given a massive budget for it. It does look absolutely amazing and I can't wait to have my hands on it.

LM3 hands down. It's one of the most polished games I've played.

I'm gonna say the first one. It's just such a unique, charming game. The combat is the most challenging and fun in the first one, the controls to me felt the most fluid in the first game, and the atmosphere of the mansion, I feel, was pretty damn excellent and actually pretty scary. I also like the art direction of the ghosts in the first game the most--there's just something weird about the way the ghosts in the second and third game look, it's like they have an extra chromosome. I think a lot of people unfairly criticize the game for being too short, however I'll argue there's quite a great amount of replay-ability because of how short it is, and because of the grade you get at the end of the game from collecting as much money as you can.

LM3 feels like a fusion of 1 and 2, combining the key components of both.

I really need to get around to replaying LM1 someday, haven't touched it since 2010, don't even know a copy anymore.
