Forums - Gaming Discussion - Your top 5 games of 2019 so far.

Were any of your top 5 in the Game Awards nominees?

Yes Multiple. 12 60.00%

Yes, just one. 2 10.00%

None 6 30.00%

Total:20

I spent a good portion of the year playing older games (bayonetta 1+2, and nier:automata) brought on by a combination of playing devil may cry 5 , which got me back in a hack and slash mood, and anticipation for astral chain...but I haven’t actually played astral yet,..)
Anyways, enough of my yackng...my top 5 so far are (in no particular order)
Devil May Cry 5
Death Stranding
Links Awakening (remake)
Bloodstained ROTN
Luigi’s Mansion 3...

Honorable mentions to RE 2 remake and Yooka Laylee

I have a feeling LM3 May get knocked out of the list if/when I play either Astral Chain or the Outer Worlds before the end of the year. Still plan on getting Fallen Order as well. Damn there’s too much stuff around

1. Super Mario Maker 2
2. Tetris 99
3. N/A
4. N/A
5. N/A

I still need to buy Link's Awakening. And Shovel Knight King of Cards & Shovel Knight Showdown are releasing next month. Doing an award show in November is stupid.

1. Luigi's Mansion 3

2. Sayonara Wild Hearts

3. Super Mario Maker 2

4. Devil May Cry 5

Pokemon Sword will probably land there too, but still haven't finished it.

1. Resident Evil 2 Remake
2. Astral Chain
3. Outward
4. Metro Exodus
5. The Sinking City

1. Ring Fit Adventure
2. Fire Emblem Three Houses
3. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
4. Pokemon Shield
5. Kirby Clash Deluxe

Honestly, this was only really a question of ordering, because I haven't really bought that many new games this year. Money has been tight. Only other games I can think of that I bought this year were Kingdom Hearts 3 and Astral Chain, and I'm still pretty early in each, and neither has really grabbed me. I also bought Shenmue 3 (which I actually bought a few years ago) but that's still in shrink wrap.

Looking at other people's posts, I do have Plague Take and Control. Just haven't beaten either of them. Neither are "top 5" worthy, either.

If they are all you played they are your top two by default ;).

I also bought RE2, Link's Awakening, and CTR but they're all old games with a fresh coat of paint. I guess my list would be

1. Gears 5

2. Resident Evil 2

3. Link's Awakening

4. Astral Chain

5. CTR

But I've played older games from years past more than any of them.

1. Valfaris
2. Luigi's Mansion 3
3. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
4. Blaster Master Zero 2
5. Cadence of Hyrule

I played many 2019 and older games this year, but most AAA games felt lackluster, even the big hyped ones. I choosed only the games released in 2019.

edit: honorable mentions: Katana Zero, The Surge 2, Blazing Chrome and Outbuddies

It landed.

This is a difficult one for me, as I still have yet to play Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair, which looks like it'll almost certainly earn a spot, and some of my most loved games this year were actually games originally released in prior years that only came to Switch in 2019.

Including those games:

1. Hellblade

2. Witcher 3

3. Luigi's Mansion 3

4. Trine 4

5. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled
