Altered Beast and Super Mario Land were good games. And didn't the N64 launch with only Mario 64 and Pilot Wings?

Yup, only those two. 1Up must not remember the N64's very sparse launch selection.

 Lol, Cruis'n USA was one of ma favorite N64 game, we rented it a lot of time with the N64 before I finally had money to buy the console in 1998.  However, I did not play that game after that.  I had the opportunity to play it for the first time in more than 10 years last year..........................this game is garbage, I can't believe how much I loved it at that time^^

 

So as you said, bad game, but with something very special when it launched.

From all the games in that list, I would only touch Super Mario Land. Altered Beast is a crappy game all around, but my childhood memories will deny it until I die.

Hot damn, I haven't seen a list that failed this hard since Gamepro's list of anticipated 2008 games that were 95% FPS games. Do these people LIKE giving out free ammo against their site?

Super Mario Land and Wave Race: Blue Storm? The latter is at 83% on GameRankings! Couldn't they have chosen that terrible Batman game that was available at launch instead?

What is wrong with them? Super Mario Land, Gradius III, and Super Mario Advance are good games. Cruis'n USA is decent. Perfect Dark Zero is far worse than Kameo.

Just because everyone has ripped on them for the other systems I'm going to do the DS.

No! Just no! It may be a mini-game collection but its a good game. It got 76% on GR, thats not half bad.

Lets go over the other launch games that are ranked lower according to GR.

Asphalt Urban GT
Madden 2005
Mr. Driller
Ridge Racer
Spider Man 2
Sprung
The Urbz
Tiger woods PGA tour

And the mother of all bad games Ping Pals - 29% on GR.

Now lets go through the games that are better.

Super Mario 64 DS.



Thats right, they chose the second highest ranked launch title, ignoring one thats well over 40% lower ranked and another thats nearly 30% lower ranked.
