split screen is more important that dlc for me, i never finish GTA games but i love playing with my friends...

First splitscreen is a crucial feature for racing games. Motostorm was effectively killed by not having this option.

Second I couldn't care less about multiplayer in GTA? Huge open cities somehow do not fit to multiplayer.

Third I think it would be weird if only the PS3 had this feature.

I would be shocked if this were true. I suspect its just fanboy rumour, everyone seems to want a bit of GTA4 PR these days by making up new things!

Given that a majority of PS3 multiplatform games perform worse (if only slightly at best, alot at worst) than their 360 counterparts, I wouldn't expect the PS3 to have splitscreen exclusively, it'd be crippled beyond belief!

Honestly I wouldn't expect GTA4 to have local multiplayer at all.

Honestly, you sound like you are from Sony Defense Force.

A.  I'll take the DLC over split screen every time.

B.  You don't own a 360, so THAT'S what convinced you to get the PS3 version, not the "poor quality of 360 hardware alone"

C.  Less than 1% of the TV's in North American homes display 1080p so few of us really care.

D.  Sixaxis controls suck.

I have both consoles and will buy the 360 version for DLC/Achievements/online with friends via Live, and it's not even a question.  Might I regret it if the DLC sucks or the frame rate is truly really bad?  Sure.  ButI doubt that it's the case.  All the preview builds and screenshots and stuff have been shown on 360 and people said it's strong. 

 

Both versions will be fun, and beyond that it's just preference.  But don't be a blind fanboy and give MS its due for having the foresight to carve a piece of the GTA pie out for themelves.  You can love Sony all you want, but it doesn't make them perfect.

B. Both my 360's died. I had a 360, blame MS and their poor construction for alienating me from them. I am not from Sony defense force, more ofg the "Scared away by ms victims group"

D. Sigh, how can you judge the functionality of Sixaxis implemantation in GTA4 without trying it.

This is ps3 box art. If you look really hard, you can see it says 1-2 players offline multiplayer, so it might actually be true.

 Is the place you are getting this image from very reliable?  If so that's fairly good evidence that PS3 will have split screen, but it doesn't mean that the 360 won't have it.
