My son just started played about 2 hours. This is his first Pokémon game. He got little annoyed at how long it took before he could catch Pokémon. But other than that he seems to enjoy it and really likes fighting and catching wild Pokémon. I'll start my own file later once the kids are sleeping

Around the Network

Haven't played a Pokemon game since Red 20 years ago. About 10.5 hours in and about to hit the first gym. I like the wild area, has me thinking it'd be cool for the next pokemon game to be another non-core game where its a BotW type huge wild area with town and gyms you can freely go into to explore and compete at, with the entire list of pokemon out in the wilds to find.
Liking the game so far, tho since I'm older now i think i do wish it was a bit harder and had more depth to it, but its a kids game afterall.
Don't see how some people are beating it in 20 hours or whatever unless they're just trying to quickly go through the game without really exploring and experiencing it.

So i'm over 10 hours in now and just got done with the second badge and i have to say, maybe it's cause i had low expectations from the bad PR online but... i love the game so far. I didn't play since S/M and this one has a lot of improvements. First of all, i love how they manage to make semi-open world game with the wild areas. Feel like this is a big step in the right direction. It's really uselful to train or lvl up low lvl pokemon cause you have a variety of levels and types in the same area. Also, i'm overwhelmed with how many pokemons i like currently i have like 2 and a half team in which i rotate some pokemons for when they just become too strong or wathever, so i keep the game exciting and challenging enough. Cause yea, i can imagine that if you are only going in with 4-6 same pokemon the majority of the game you will probably find it way too easy.

Anyway, i for once in a pkmn game like to take time to catch the most ones possible. Also i looooove the new designs in majority, think the only few i don't like are the water turtle and the early game normal type pokemon but i just never was interested in those and now they are really useless without the CS.

So yea, love it a lot, probably one of my favorite so far in a long time. Thing i would improve is a difficulty mode right from the start (really tho that's easy to make i don't understand why they aren't doing this since it was a feature in the 5th gen). And maybe a more interesting story, nothing is happening rn and i read that it is going to pretty much stay the same so i'm not hoping for anything. Hopefully they take in some criticism and improve some of that stuff, cause yea the game is good but it can be a lot more.

Ok, the Metacritic for both Pokemon Sword and Shield are 80 (why are they counted as separate games?). Thus, whoever voted 80 for the betting, congratulations.

Also, no idea on how to give away the betting profits, any help from the team?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Eh, I guess theoretically one can like one game better than the other if they prefer certain gym leaders or Pokemon.
