#33 - Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland - PS3/NS | #32 - Atelier Ayesha: Alchemist of Dusk - PS3/Soon to be played on NS.
Very well done Atelier games, they have the usual SoL tone in story and character interaction and fantastic music.
Meruru has a very great feel of progression, with her whole, building up her kingdom deal, seeing areas change and net you better materials for even better item synthesis is incredibly satisfying, with the depth that has been developing in mechanics with the Arland games.
Ayesha goes for having a bit more freedom in how you tackle your tasks like Totori without being too daunting in how much the world opens up for you, is a perfectly balanced game and a great start for the Dusk trilogy, with some more added mechanics to the alchemy that makes for my favorite system of the series.
#31 - Tales of Vesperia - Xbox 360/NS | #30 - Tales of the Abyss - 3DS
The main issue with these titles is that their starts are rather aimless before getting a more set goal and drive for the characters and that the combat system while deeper than some previous games, it takes a while to get going, so the opening hours can be boring a restrictive in how much the game allows you to do in battles.
Outside of that, these are very excellent RPGs, Vesperia being the last excellent Tales of in my eyes, they are the series at their best with the cast of characters, Abyss having some of the best developed characters in any game for me, Vesperia with one of the best soundtracks and both of these once they get going, have a very good story with the usual good messages the series leaves you with.
