Just that I've seen some horrors of people trying to build a first PC and there is nothing worse than seeing 2k worth of parts damaged and trying to troubleshoot if it was a problem with the build or if one particular part arrived damaged.

Also I've seen this on 2 separate occasions!

Remember, put the paste.... on the CPU.... not in the socket ;.;

Do some people really put together a PC without watching a how to video? I mean, even that infamous Verge (or was it Vox) video put the paste on the actual CPU and not the socket.

Here is a legit copy paste of an email I got, this person went on to refuse help and build the PC themselves, it went in the bin along with the 1070ti that was with it. That was a few years ago also when the 10 series was new

Hello ----------

I was hoping when you have free time to see the items I have, possibly see if they are compatible with each other. Apart from the graphics care and intel core I was also wondering if I am missing anything towards the building of the actual computer Whether it’s adhesive or wires. Anything that I would have left out if it isn’t there.

 Thank you

Where do the alarm bells start ringing for you in that email? Also... I hope you have not bought any glue for your build.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

The instant he said "graphics care". People that are too stupid/careless to use proper grammar are too stupid/careless to build a PC. Also, adhesive? Glue + Heat + Electricity does not mix. I could have told you that fifteen years ago when I knew jack squat about building a PC.

BTW I have no idea how to hook up my SSD to my board. And I have no idea how to mount my board to my case. I'll be watching videos and googling it in the week before my parts arrive. Any tips on that?

wait wait wait wait wait, that last line of your post, about buying an anti static wristband, have you ever put a PC together or taken one apart? is this your first rodeo?

Technically 2nd time. But the first time was 90% my friend helping me do it. I'll be following a Linus Tech Tips how to video. Perhaps anti-static wasn't the right choice of words. It was whatever the heck LTT said to get. I'll check it when I get home.

You don't need an anti-static strap, just maintain a hand connection to the case so you are grounded.

Take it slowly.
If it's an nvme drive (I didn't check your components), it's just like installing Ram.

It is! That makes it easy then. Do NVME drives have their own PSU cable, or do they just get their power through the motherboard, like RAM sticks?

Now I'm just wondering how to figure out where to put the mounting brackets for the motherboard. Guess I'll read the case/motherboard manuals when they arrive.

Should of waited for ampere if this is for cyberpunk.

Arctic silver? It's 2019 buddy.

there is pretty much 0 reason for a normal user to get any more sophisticated paste than the arctic silver 5, it's good and easy to use

personally I'd probably go with the even easier/safer Arctic MX-4 though

I didn't even know about ampere. Oh well. What are the specs/pricing/release date?

What's wrong with Artic Silver? Should I get something different?

Kryonaut, one pea size blob in the middle, job done. Ampere comes out summer 2020, but understand if you do not want to wait.

No cable required. (Already mentioned, missed it)

If you like to spread, MX-4 is pretty good.

Whew! I was afraid it was launching before Cyberpunk 2020. Nah, I'm good then. I want to be able to play on launch day thanks. 2070 Super is the best price to power ratio (when you factor in the entire build cost) right now anyway. Plus I got OuterWorlds (Keeping), Modern Warfare (Which I'll sell on Kinguin if possible), and three months of Gamepass for free with my GPU, so it was pretty cheap in the end.
