Forums - PC Discussion - EA and Valve announce partnership

This is pretty much just about discoverability. EA gets more traffic going through Origin and Steam gets more sales cuts. Makes sense for both of them and it shouldn't have taken this long to figure that out. A small win for the consumer but a win nonetheless.

Hey look, the two companies that I hate the most are teaming up. yea....

I can't wait for:

Mike Pence / Bernie Sanders 2024 ticket.

Alt Right and Antifa to hold hands.

Anonymous to admit they love Kim Jung Un.

Starbucks to start selling Folgers.

Microsoft to release an Android based surface phone... Oh wait ...

Ewwwww. No thanks

I don't have interest on the service, but this may bring extra money to both companies, would be good if both used it to make more great games.

It's been said that the game will not require Origin in order to run the game, which means those buying it on Steam also launch and run it from there. This also means that there's very little of Origin showing up by making this move.

Had they run this like the way Ubisoft does, then they would get some more traffic going through Origin, getting Steam users to view their store at the same time as Steam's.

I want my Dead Space 3 and Command and Conquer collection transferred to Steam and off Origin. Kthzbye.

They are not allowing game account transfers, meaning you'll have to buy the games all over again on Steam.

That sucks.. are the EA games available on Steam? Because ill rebuy Dead Space 3 so i can have the entire collection on Steam.

Not sure if they'll port their entire old library, but we've got word that their latest games, even BFV from last yr, will be showing up over time (Jedi: Fallen order is already up for wishlisting on Steam right now).
