It's all in the title! Retro Studios has finally secured a Lead Character Designer for (presumably) Metroid Prime 4! Kyle Hefley is jumping from one sci-fi series to another! He previously worked at 343 Industries on the Halo series as the senior character modeler. Judging from his portfolio, and his work on those awesome Halo designs, i'd say we're in good hands. It's gonna be quite the wait, though...

Step 2: A concept sketch artist.

At least we're getting closer and closer to release.

This is interesting hire, but I kind wish they had all the roles filled already by this point....

Hiring a modeller tho.. Somehow I thought the game was in a more advanced state.
So, late 2022 release?

They restarted development around January because apparently the game was sucking.

It's not. Wanna bet as well it won't even release as Metroid Prime 4, let alone release on the Switch. Getting kinda worried that, by whatever time the game is finished, I'll be long dead. At least Pikmin 4 is closer to launch, ammirite?

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

will be a nice Switch 2 launch title

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Looks like Kyle already worked up a Samus model 4 years ago.  Not really sure I like that.

That's pretty terrible.  Looks more like a mech suit.  Hopefully under the tutelage of Retro he'll just use his talents to make designs consistent with existing Metroid Prime art.

Yeah it wouldn't surprise me at all if this either launches in like 2024 for the Switch 2 or gets canned altogether.

Its development has already been fucked up enough to warrant a change in developer and a full-on restart, and now it's in the hands of a developer who haven't managed to produce a new game in 6 years.
