CoD Mobile has just been exposed by a bunch of Youtubers who have done some research on the chances of the drop rates for the prises advertised.

It is known that if you wanted to win the top prises you will need to spend a minimal of $150 dollars.

Example below.

Its claimed to win a Epic (Purple) item in the Loot box it has a 42% chance to land on an Epic (Purple) space however.. that 42% has been divided into 4 items which 2 are the least popular while the other two are the most popular. The two items that everyone wants which is the Halloween Skin and Halloween AK-47 only have a 1% chance to drop where as the Weapons Crate and XP boost have the 20% chance to drop.

Each time you spin the price value goes up from 40CP to 10000CP. This forces gamers to buy CP points from the store and leads them into spinning up to 8 to 10 times to win the prises they want.. and instead it makes the price of those items cost about $150 once they have spent enough money in the game store.

So instead of labelling the Epic items that gamers really want in a different category, they placed them in the purple category making gamers believe that they have a high chance on winning them, instead it deceives them with only a 1% chance is utter ridiculous. Its scummy marketing at its worst.

Just another day in the gaming industry...

It'll make the employees more money so it's fine. Anyone who stops paying in the game will be hurting said employees and are thus the equivalent to communist.

Who still has any faith left in the mobile market? I sometimes wonder if all of this stuff is going to explode and send the whole industry backwards just like the crash of 83 did, or people are becoming so used to this shit it's all just normal for them.

I remember the days Mobile gaming was good. I loved games like Plants vs Zombies and even enjoyed Dead Space on Mobile. Its just these scummy practices seem to be seeping into the gaming market. Unfortantly there is just too much money to be made out of the gaming industry and these mega corps see the protential gain.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes

How is it a scam? Is Activision telling people something different than the reality here? I see no evidence of that.

At this point, everyone understands (or, should understand) how loot boxes work. We also understand that these games have to make money somehow. Activision isn't forcing anyone to play, and they damn sure aren't forcing people to spend $150 to get some stupid in-game crap. Acti is monetizing their game in a way that entices people to spend money, just like every successful business in the history of mankind has done. But, they aren't forcing anyone to do anything, and (from what I can see) they aren't lying to anyone about how the games makes money. So, there's really nothing to see here.

If someone spends hundreds of dollars in a video game to buy skins and weapon crates, they should take a look in the mirror and think about why they're being so irresponsible with their money. People need to take responsibility for their own poor choices.

To make it simple.  if it says you have a 20% chance to win an epic skin....> 20 people spin 10 times and nobody got it with their first 8 spins but all got it around 9/10th spin the 20% chance seems to be a lie and rigged.

Seems extremely unlikely to be the case.  Activision knows how sensitive everyone is to loot boxes right now, so they'd have to be pretty stupid to think they could get away with lying about the odds.  

But, if that's true, they're clearly guilty of fraud.  They'll also be facing a class action lawsuit in short order.  These two factors make it even less likely that they're lying though.  They know they'd get caught if they did.  

What did you expect from a free-to-play game? lol
