That's funny because the prequels had zero discernable plot for about 2 1/2 movies. Obi-Wan goes on a pointless "detective" mission to find a dart for most of an entire film.

Yeah, prequels were mostly pretty shite as well, but looking at them from this POV they're at least tolerable compared to this Disney's SW dreck.

To be fair, not saying the prequel’s stories didn’t have issues, but at least Obi Wan’s detective mission leads to him discovering the existence of two large armies. It leads to something that involves the development of the overal plot, while Finn’s casino trip leads to absolutely nothing.

They're not really, they're worse written and acted like a 6th grade play (which is embarrassing consider the level of talent the actors have). Just because the Disney SW films adhere more to nostalgia and didn't give hero Luke doesn't change that they're better acted, better written, and have better cinematography along with a functional story at least. The Phantom Menace doesn't even have a main character, lol. Just basic levels of fail.

Finding the Assassin that tried to kill a main character and a Senator is pointless? I'm not a massive fan of the prequels but I find this criticism strange.
They absolutely had a plot, some would argue too much.

He never found the assassin, and why the hell would the assassin even use a specific kind of dart to lead them straight to the army. And then the Jedi just decide not to ask where the army came from and go ahead and use it.
lol, the story is monumentally stupid, but even that would be passable if the acting, emotion, and dialogue wasn't the worse than a Transformers movie. I buy Shia LeBeof and Megan Fox as a couple more than Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman looking like she suffered severe head trauma when falling off that cruiser to agree to fall in love with Anakin, lol.
