Typhoon Hagibis took a sizeable bite out of Japan's sales, which hit the Switch hardest as the dominant console there.

Both NA/EU PS4 sales and Switch sales in each of the three big regions > Xbone global sales.

Around the same time as Sony’s?

Surpriseing the 3DS is still selling 10k tbh....
And that vita is still on this list, its time to let it go (24 units is nothing in the grand scheme of things).

For me it is quite odd that so close to holiday and after Lite PS4 is being able to keep so close to Switch (in this case I'm suspecting more of low Switch than high PS4, since it have kept 200k average for most of the year).

It was probably more to do with the tax hike.

The typhoon only got here on the 12th, so it would've only affected 1 day of the week, and only in the Toyko area. The previous week felt the effects of the hike, but also would have included the last 2 days of the previous tax rate, with everybody panic shopping before tax went up, so we're only really seeing the full effect of it in this week.

On Era multiple users mentioned how stores were closed over the weekend, when most sales occur, due to the typhoon. It definitely had a major affect on sales.

4.2m to go for the switch to catch the X1, holiday season should destroy that gap with relative ease, I see it being a sprint passed the X1 for the switch when Pokémon drops.

Also Luigi's mansion 3 and ring fit adventure are getting a lot of TV advert time here in Ireland/UK

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

The weekly sales gap between Switch and PS4 is getting smaller every week. How can a 6 year old console still sell over 200K every single week?

That is why it's called playstation.

It was still only 1 day and in 1 area. Was barely even noticeable that there was a typhoon in the western part of the country.

Saying only 1 day seems kind of ignorant since the people in the affected areas probably werent too concerned with buying video game consoles in the days leading up to the typhoon. It was also the most populated region that got affected.

Obviously not the whole country was affected for the entire week, otherwise there wouldnt have been 65k consoles sold but it definitely had a major impact.
